1.Clinical Studies of the extracardiac conduit and intracardiac lateral tunnel total cavopulmonary connectionObjective To compare outcomes of extracardiac conduit and lateral tunnel total cavopulmonary connection in our single institution over a concurrent time period, to study the advantages and the disadvantages of the two operation techniques. Methods Between February 1993 to October 2001, 25 extracardiac conduit and 21 lateral tunnel total cavopulmonary connections were performed. We compared the results of general clinical material and the early and late results in both groups, and analysis the mortality of risk factors. Results Sex, preoperative room air oxygensaturation, cardiac function, rhythm of the heart ,transpulmonary gradients, ejection fractions, pulmonary artery distoration did not difffer between the 2 groups. But age, weight, and the body surface area were larger in EC group, p<0.05 respectively. There were 12 patients were operated before or during 1998, but only one in Ecgroup. All 21 patients in LT group underwent the operation withCPB, the CPB times were 110~330Min, meanl65±44 . 6Min, the...
