AIMs1.To measure telomerase activity in human liver tissues and toinvestigate its possibility as tumor biomarker in human primaryhepatocellular carcinomas(HCC). 2.To detect the expression of MRP,Bax,P16 and P53 protein inHCCs, and to evaluate their correlations with the prognosis ofHCCs. METHODS1.A total of 111 human liver tissues specimens,comprising 40 HCCs and 40 adjacent tissues,8 hepatic metastases and 8 adjacent tissues,8 benign liver lesions and 7 nomal liver tissues,and 20 fine-needle biopsy specimens of HCCs ,were examined for telomerase activity by TRAP assay based on PCR. 2.Immunohistochemical techniqurs were used to detect expression of MRP,Bax,P16 and P53 protein.
