一, MRI in Aortic Dissection: A Retrospective Study Some clinical manifestations in 210 patients with aortic dissection (AD) and the results of MRI study in 42 patients with AD were analysed in this article with a discussion on the value and limitation of MRI study with spin echo(SE) technique.Among the 210 patients with AD of the present series, there were 129 cases(61.4%) with type III much more than type I and II, the latter two were 55 cases(26.2%) and 22 cases(10.5%) respectively. The chronic AD was the most commont type according to the cllinical course and seen in 140 patients(66.7%) much common than that of acute and subacute AD.The type III AD were more commonly seen in middle aged and agedpatients more than 50 years old, ie, 89/140 patients(63.6%),and type II AD more commonly seen in patients of young adults 30-40 years old,ie16/22 patients(72.7%).106 patients(50.5%)ofthe present series had hypertension or its history andcommoner in patient with type III AD,ie,76 patients(58.9%),and44 patients (21%) had Marfan syndrome which was commonly seenin patients with type HAD, ie, 14 patients(63.6%).Double lumen (true and false lumen) of the aorta and intimal flap are direct signs for diagnostic significance in AD studied with SE-MRI.Among these 42 patients with AD of present signes, the aortic double lumen and intimal flap were shown except in one on SE-MRI with a diagnostic rate of97.6%. The transaxial images were ideal for demonstrating the above-stated direct signes.A focal discontinuity of intimal flap indicates the presence of an entry tear.and was shown in 17 patients(41.5%) of present signs.Mural thrombi within the false lumen shown in 16 patients on T1 weight SE-MRI and almost no change of signal intensity on images with different cardiac cycles as well as body planes. The signs of mural thrmbi of false lumen were more commonly seen in patients...
