AIDS is a serious infectious disease infected by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). There has been so far no specific therapeutic method. At present, drugs for the clinical treatment of AIDS are nucleotide reverse transriptase inhibitor, non- nucleotide reverse transriptase inhibitor and proteinase inhibitor. In China, this kind of drugs developed on its own does not come into the market so drugs for AIDS treatment are mainly dependent upon imports from abroad. The common patients cannot afford such drugs because they are too expensive. In addition, most of the drugs have stronger toxic and side effects; long-term use may lead to drug tolerance.
