It is an established fact that esters of phosphoric acid have wide bio-activities and play a vital role in many biological processes. In the experiment described in this paper, the phosphorylated flavones were selected and studied using cell biology and molecular biology methods in cancer cells in our Lab. The effects of them have been compared. Our experimental results indicated that flavones/isoflavones and phosphorylated flavones/isoflavones could significantly decreased cell viability detected by using MTT assay in a dose- and time-dependent manner in Hela cells. The survival inhibition effects of phosphorylated flavones and isoflavones were higher than that of non-phosphorylated flavones and isoflavones. It seems that phosphorylation at hydroxyl group of ring A could confer a more potent anticancer effect. The effect of phosphorylated flavones seems to positively correlate with the numbers of phosphoryl group. We investigated whether and how the compound a serial of phosphorylated flavones affects proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis in human cervical cancer HeLa cells. Moreover, the effects of phosphorylated flavones in hela cells were compared with flavones. The Hela cells were cocultured with flavones and phosphorylated flavones as experiment groups and corresponding control groups treated with neither flavones nor phosphorylated flavones respectively. The proliferation, cell cycle progression, differentiation and apoptosis were measured by flow cytometry, the HCl-denatured methyl-green and pyronin staining and TUNEL techniques respectively. Apoptosis was also determined by changes in membrane...
