Ventricular fibrillation is a live-threatening malignant arrhythmia. When ventricular fibrillation occurs, electrocardiogram (ECG) shows the fibrillation configurations which are irregular in size, shape and width, clinical symptoms present or manifest the sudden unconsciousness, the disappearance of heart sound and pulsation of great artery, convulsion, absent respiration, even death, since the heart stops contracting effectively. The prevention and effective termination of ventricular fibrillation is a research hot point of the medicine at present. The current treatment strategy of ventricular fibrillation has the obvious changes. The application widely of the implantbale cardiac automatic cardiovertor/defibrillator (ICD) play the very important role in the non-drug treatment of ventricular fibrillation. However, due to cardiac electrical activity complexion of ventricular fibrillation on ECG, abnormal mechanism of ventricular fibrillation is unknown, the dynamic time and temporal behavior of dominant frequencies of electrical activity in ECG during the ventricular fibrillation are not clear. Therefore, regardless of the drugs, artificial current defibrillation or ICD, they could not get the satisfactory medical effects. Based on the previous observations about organization during ventricular fibrillation, several studies have been conducted to investigate whether the information contained within the ECG during ventricular fibrillation is correlated with shock outcome and can be used to synchronize the delivery of defibrillation shocks in order to increase the probability of terminating ventricular fibrillation, and to provide further insight into the mechanisms of fibrillation and defibrillation. Digital analysis of information contained within the ECG during ventricular fibrillation which is based on the experimental model of heart electrical activity, not only open up the recognitions of ventricular fibrillation complex, but also benefit the clinically treatment of ventricular fibrillation. Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate the correlation between the absolute ventricular fibrillation voltage (AVFV) computed from the orthogonal ECG and the electrical defibrillation shock outcome by using the heart electrical activity model in animals; to investigate the correlation between the degree of phase coupling among orthogonal ECG during ventricular fibrillation and the defibrillation shock outcome; to quantify time-varying dominant frequencies in signal of electrocardiogram during the ventricular fibrillation and to estimate the effects of amiodarone on the...
