The children anorexia is a kind of feeding disorder in young children. The children suffering from anorexia have a poor appetite or lose their appetite, or even hate to eat their food. In the Chinese archaic medical books, there was no any disease named children anorexia, but the description of some symptom in these writings like WUSHI, BUSHISHI, BUSISHI and BUJIBUNA, is quite similar to children anorexia. The therapy of enlivening spleen is an important theorem, which regulates the function of digestive system and aims specifically at the characteristic of children digestive disorder. The pediatric herbalists have practiced the theorem in clinic for many years and have done some research on animal experiments for uncovering its mechanism. These studies have proved the theory is very useful in clinic and supported the idea: the most important thing for facilitating spleen is enlivening it rather than replenishing it.The VMH(ventromedial hypothalamous) and LH(lateral hypothalamous) is the most interesting area that control food intake. They regulate appetite by their counterwork in harmony. Therefore, they used to be called feeding center. On the other hand, some brain-gut peptides also play a critical role in the feeding control by affecting the feeding centre. So we assumed that there were some disorders on the brain-gut peptides secretion in the children anorexia, who usually take an inadequacy food element, which lead to the inordinate secretion of some feeding-related peptides and subsequently act on the feeding centre, finally make feeding behavior changed. The curative effect of the enliven spleen compound on the children anorexia may be attained by adjusting the disturbance in the 'brain-gut peptide -feeding center'. This is our hypothesis on the 'brain-gut peptide -feeding center'.Based on the reliable clinical curative effect of Baobaole on anorexia, we designed an enlarge clinic test. To further studying the central mechanism of children anorexia and enliven spleen compound and giving the evidence of the hypothesis...
