Background and AimColorectal cancer is a kind of maligant disease and has close relationship with life style and dietary habits. It starts as an identifiable and slow growing precursor lession, which is easily to be discovered and interdicted, so colon cancer is preventable. Colorectal cancer can be early discovered and cured by screening. Using effective options and recommendations, physicians can greatly reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer and helps us to make primary prevention and secondary prevention. The prevalence of colon cancer has been increasing and the model of colorectal cancer changed too, which lead to the increasing medical burden of the society. There is no systemic study about epidemiology of Guangdong province. Our study on clinical epidemiology characteristics will help us to prepare proper diagnosis, cure and precaution strategy.The present study is aimed to investigate the prevalence, incidence and mortality, and constituent ratio of colorectal cancer in tumour death cause in community group of Guangdong; to screen the high risk group and provide a spot for future study (longitudinal research); to evaluate the screening benefit and cost in high risk group and offer insight into practices; to elucidate the epidemic characteristics of colorectal cancer in Guangdong.
