Legionnaires' disease is the infectious disease of acute bacterial respiratory tract caused by legionella. It has a quick course of disease and high case fatality ratio and it is easy to break out. The older and immunodeficiency people are susceptible people. The principle cause of outbreak of Legionnaires' disease is that L. pneumophila distributes natural water and earth widely, and easily multiplies in ferrated pipeline, such as water pipe, fountain, tankage of electrothermal water, water tanker of resident home, water of cooling tower of air conditioning system and the water fish farming and so on, human and animal are infected by inhaling aerosol contained L. pneumophila. Next, L. pneumophila is a kind of facultative intracellular bacterium, and has numerous serological types, at the same time Legionnaires' disease is often to be ignored by clinician because it hasn't typical clinical symptom, so misdiagnosis and mistreatment of Legionnaires' disease is common phenomenon, and its case fatality ratio is to 25% ~ 50%. But human haven't find any good way to deal with it. Obviously, it is urgent necessary to develop a vaccine which should be highly efficient, lasting, and widely protection. The mompS gene encoding major outer membrance protein S is a...
