Modern Chinese Medicine preparations are embodiments of modernity of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In order to improve the level of TCM preparations, it is very important to modernize pharmaceutical techniques, especially to modernize the theoretical basis of dosage forms designed, the methods for screening prescriptions, optimizing crafts and the evaluating system aiming at entire quality. Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics are subjects focusing on studying the regularities of drug's absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination in vivo, and further elucidating the relationships between preparational factors, biological factors and drug effects. Thus, the purpose of this study is to provide novel ideas and approaches for selecting dosage forms, screening prescriptions, optimizing crafts and evaluating quality by utilizing the latest measures and models based on the principles of biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics.Complex prescription of Danqi is one of most widely used traditional Chinese preparation to treat coronary heart disease, heart-stroke and cerebrovascular, which is composed of Danshen and Sanqi. Danshen is selected to be the model Chinese crude drug in this study. Its chemical constituents cover two chemical types: diterpenoid quinines and...
