Hantaan virus , the etiologic agent of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, is the prototype of the Hantavirus genus of the Bun-yaviridae family. It has a three-segment, single-stranded RNA genome, whose segments are designated as large (L), mediume (M) and small (S), which encode the structural proteins, RNA polymerase, envelope glycoproteins (G1, G2), and nucleocapsid protein (NP) , respectively. It has been reported that the envelope glycoproteins can elicited neutralizing antibodies and protective cell-mediated immune response in animals, the nucleocapsid protein only elicited protective cell-mediated immune response.Three expression vector plasmids (PBV220, PKK223-3 and PGEX-4T-1) were used to express the envelope glycoproteins Gl and G2 of hantaan virus in E. coli.
