Perioral force has been the basic study of clinical orthodontics for about 100 years. During this period many results had been achieved. But there also existed many deferences in these studies due to the deferent methods and apparatus used. So it is essential to standardize the methods and apparatus in order to improve the studying level of this field. This is one of the chief aims in this study.Crossbite of anterior teeth in preadolescent children is one of the most common type of malocclusion in the patients who are characteristic by maxillary deficiency and mandibular prognthism. Comparing with other kinds of malocclusion anterior crossbite is more harmful. It has many harmful influences on both psyche and function of stomatognathic system. Therefore the study of its diagnosis, treatment and prognosis were always focused on in Orthodontic area. By now the perioral force of the preadolescent children with anterior crossbite haven't been reported both in our country and other countries. So we decided to do some researches about it. To do this, we developed a new computer-aided measuring system to measure the perioral force of the children. We also compared the results of...
