Magnetic nanoparticles were widely used in cell isolation, biological micromolecular separation and purification such as protein and nucleic acid separation and purification. Magnetic nanoparticles were also used in other fields such as drug targeted therapy, hyperthermia, lymph node and blood image with the research developement. The researchers have developed many kinds of magnetic nanoparticles for different applications in biomedical fields. In this paper, We developed an approach to synthesize superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles in the presence of a novel polymer matrix, which is systhesized using lactic acid by photocatalyst. The polymer used in the paper was synthesized using lactic acids by photocatalyst not similar to the polylactic acids. The novel polymer has many carboxylate and hydroxide groups with water dispersed well. The result indicated that the synthesized nanoparticles consisted of clusters of iron oxide monocrystals, embedded inside the polymer chains. The synthesis conditions of pH, titration velocity and molar ration of the iron ion and the polymer were optimized according to the monodispersed and particles sizes. The resulted particles were monodisperse, nanosized, stabilized when the ratio of polymer to Fe ion is 100mg polymer per 4.22mM Fe ion and the pH is about 10.
