It was found that there were many differences between the steroid- and alcohol-induced Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head (ONFH) on the histopathology, X-ray and clinic, also on the prognosis. But we have no more cognition on the differences between them and have no corresponding treatment to them, so they were classified as non-traumatic ONFH, which obviously goes against the individual treatment and the evaluation of clinical curative effect. In this study we compared the two ONFH induced by different pathogeny on histopathology, immunohistology , X-ray and clinic. On second thoughts, to probe the differences between the two ONFH on the necrosis, injuries of vessel, repair and regenesis of bone, we analyzed them again according to the Yuan's Image and Pathogenesis Taxonomy. At last, we discussed the significance of these differences to clinical diagnosis and treatment. The study were divided into five parts:1 The comparison on the morphology between the steroid- and alcohol- induced ONFH(1) Objective: To compare the difference on pathology between the steroid- and alcohol- induced ONFH by the quantitative analysis of morphology, then to cognize the pathogenesis of ONFH and the relationship with the different pathogenies.(2) Methods: The study included 13 femoral heads of osteonecrosis selected from 73 femoral heads of 69 cases with randomization, which involved 5 at stageâ…¢and 8 at stageâ…£according to ARCO(Association Research Circulation Osseus) system and involved 7 caused by corticoid(5 male, 2 female) and 6 by alcohol(6 male).Every head was sawed into slices of 3 to 4 mm for the whole head sections. At the same time, the bone tissues...
