[objective] To evaluate clinical effect of local and systemic warmer-physical therapy in the treatment of periarthritis of shoulder and neck-shoulder syndrome in order to establish a routine method.[methods] warmer-physical therapy cured locally: the patients suffered from periarthritis of shoulder were treated with warmer-physical therapy locally. The patients were divided into two groups by random. One is control group: 36 cases totally, male 8 cases, female 28 cases, age 27-64 years old, average age 50.88 years old. Comparison group: 36 cases totally. male 15 cases, female 21 cases, age 36-62 years old, average age 52. 37 years old. Control group was treated with warmer-physical bed for 4 weeks, while comparison group was treated with massage for 4 weeks. Observed and selected respectively before the treatment and in the 14th day, 28th day of the treatment, compared the alleviation of pain and the function improvement of the shoulder. Warmer-physical therapy in the use of systemic regulation: the patients suffered from soft tissue pain around cervical spine and shoulder were treated with warmer-physical therapy, observed the clinical effect of alleviation of soft tissue pain and the function improvement of the shoulder. The patients were divided into two groups by random. One is control group: 114 cases totally, male 21 cases, female 93 cases, age 41-68 years old, average age 54.21 years old. Comparison group: 108 cases totally male 20 cases, female 88 cases, age 37-69 years old, average age 54. 70 years old. Control group were treated with warmer-physical bed for 8 weeks, while comparison group were treated with acupuncture massage instrument for 4 weeks. Observed and selected respectively before the treatment and in the 18th day , 36th day , 48th day (the end of the treatment) of the treatment, compared the alleviation of soft tissue pain and the function of the cervical spine.[results] There was a significant statistical change in local warmer-physical therapy before and after the treatment in the alleviation of pain and the function improvement of the shoulder (P<0.05), comparison of the result. Control group: Exellent 11.11%, Good 69.44%, Poor 19.44%. Comparison group: Exellent 33.33%, Good 36.11%, Fairl9.44%, Poor 11.11%. (P< 0.05). Warmer-physical therapy in the use of systemic regulation: both the control and comparison group has a significant statistical change of symptoms and physical signs before and after the treatment (P<0. 05)[conclusion] Both local and systemic warmer-physical therapy has a good effective in the treatment of periarthritis of shoulder and neck-shoulder syndrome. The excellent result in comparison group was higher than control group indicated that the manipulation played a very important role among legion therapies.
