Jin Zhe, a famous Korean Chinese poet, has various experiences during time changing and social changes in China. His poetries are widely recognizable in Korean Peninsula and China, and have eminent contribution to Korean Parnassus. As an ethnic Chinese, Poet Jin Zhe, exerts great influence to poetic circle of ethnic group as well, thus many ethnic minority scholars and poets think highly of Poet Jin Zhe. A lot of Korean scholars give great compliments to Jin Zhe’s poetries since his poetries are full of local colors, which is also undeniable in the Korean Peninsula. With successive passion towards composing poetries crazily, Poet Jin Zhe is a very excellent Korean Chinese Poet, who has written so many famous poetries. Therefore, it is fairly meaningful to research artistic characters of Jin Zhe’s poetries. Since most of research emphasized merely spiritual thoughts of Poet Jin Zhe, there is few analysis about artistic achievement of Jin Zhe’s poetries or just focus on few aspects but not completely integral. That’s why my thesis try to research artistic characters from more aspects, analyzing artistic achievements of Poets written by Jin Zhe. Research of artistic characters may not only help figure Poet Jin Zhe’s literal structures better and deeply, also get full understandings about what he has experienced in society and its efforts to him; meanwhile, help us recognize his aesthetic pursuits for the purpose to analyze artistic achievements of his poetries objectively. Further, we could gain knowledge of cultural characters, ideological structures, and aesthetic tendency among Korean Chinese. The research of my thesis has 6 parts in total. Firstly, preface, mainly reviews former researches by illustrating methods and goals of the research, and questions come as well. Secondly, research about the world of Jinzhe poetries; based on the research of Poet Jin Zhe’s whole life and various social factors exerting influences to poetry composition, this chapter would discuss different expression and reflection ways, and variations of his own characters or identifies within his poets. Lastly, discuss features of thinking variation reflected by the poet among his poets. The third chapter is imagination characters’research of Poet Jin Zhe. To start with, I need to research characters of original poetries findings, metaphors, visual imagination and musical imaginations as well. The forth chapter focus on color character research in the world of Jin Zhe’s poetries, specifically the research about representative meaning of the color "red", because Poet Jin Zhe preferred to express aesthetic perception by red, and liked to describe colors as metaphors of opposite structure between young and old. Thus this chapter has detail analysis towards this two aspects. The fifth chapter discusses images in the world of Jin Zhe poetries, which mainly focus on homelands, wars, females, and spring. The sixth chapter is the analysis of innovations and backwards of comprehensive research in this thesis. The followings are the detailed statement of my thesis. The first chapter of the thesis gives an introduction about Poet Jin Zhe primarily, then analyzed former research achievements towards Peat Jin Zhe both within and outside China, in other words, including the researches and comments towards Poet Jin Zhe written by other minority groups. According to these, figure out the goals and meaning of researches, and decide research methods.Initially, the second chapter analyzes Poet Jin Zhe’s whole life, analyzing all kinds of social variation he has experienced, then unscramble his responses to those social changes among his poetries. Young Jin Zhe became a loyal literature-propaganda tool for the Communist Party and Chinese government due to his particularly active attitude over political resonance. Poet Jin Zhe did not review himself about history until 80s. his poetry literature started seeking historical roots, expressing very strong emotions towards the lost hometown and the unification of Korean peninsula, at the same time with the establishment of China-Korea diplomatic relations.During this period, the poetry itself varied from us to me, from the superficial me to essential me, from purely simple me to diversely colorful me due to the profound changes of the poetry itself presented by Poet Jin.The way of thinking in his poetries is very interesting, which coincides with the contemporary times theme by transformations from considering futures to the past; for instance, the 50s and 60s when young Jin Zhe lived in, called for the certain kind of literature filled with fierce optimism and promising and hopeful colors, coincidently, young poet Jin Zhe was under this exact life status, which consequently enabled him to write down poetries in need for the times.During the 80s and 90s after the end of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, Poet Jin was no longer young, hence he missed his youth and everything he owned during youth, soaking among memories. At the same time, China and Korea established diplomatic relations, and hence Korean Chinese community directed eyes to Korean peninsula, holding different views about seeking roots. Consequently, this combination between times features and poets’ homesick, generated countless poets, even some reaching to the peak of poetic perfection. Harmonic interactions with contribute to an recognizable poet. The third chapter mainly discusses the imagination characters of Poet Jin Zhe, in which the theme is characters of original poetries findings, metaphors, visual imagination and musical imaginations as well. Primarily inspirations of many Jin Zhe’s poetries came from his daily life, and he also has better political sensibility; After realizing relations among these, Poet Jin Zhe combine then well, which is one of characters of his original poetries.Another feature is that Poet Jin could vividly describe a variety of sceneries, persons, or activities intriguing his sensory perceptions, leading to a resonance with audiences.During middle aged, ideological development of Poet Jin stagnated at certain degree, therefore, some original poetries are lack of novelty and nature, showing farfetched instead, and merely pursuing superficially aesthetic values.Poet Jin would like to deliver fairly peaceful plain images to readers, instead of describing three-dimensional images which he is not good at. Poet Jin’s musical imagination has following characters:Poet held his poetries are combinations of thoughts and music, delivering fluctuations of emotions by poetic rhythm, which could explain why his poetries enjoy so amazing rhythms with fierce musicality, and Poet Jin is very good at applying ballad tones of Korean customs or combination of ballad lyrics and new original songs, for the purpose of sublimation of emotions in poetries, also invoking resonance with ethnic readers. The forth chapter discusses color characters of Jin Zhe’s poetries. Red is his favorite color to describe. The relation between the color red and Poet Jin is interdependent. On the one hand, Poet Jin got inspirations from red aesthetic objects since he tended to be moved by red aesthetic objects. On the other hands, Poet pursued the aesthetic expectancy he desired to achieve though maximizing this color. Red represents the beauty of sunset, also symbols of sympathy and pain, etc. Poet also illustrated opposite structures of young and old though different colors. Especially after he fell into agedness, this opposite structure became extremely obvious. The comparison between the color as the symbol of young and the color as the symbol of old represents innermost contradiction and repentance, delivering thoughts about life as well. The fifth chapter discusses images in the world of Jin Zhe poetries, which mainly focus on homelands, wars, females, and spring. These images vary due to Poet’s age and social evolutions; research over the variations is also a good way to understand Poet and poetries’variation.Images of hometown varies as following statements:young poets living in the 50s love their hometown with fully promising hope, by writing compliments about hometown’s development, which is related to positive attitude of young poets and contemporarily official environment, in which Poet wrote poetries aboutIn the 60s, there was no obvious change of poetries about hometown written by Poet Jin, which were carols by compliments and typical reflections of political resonance. After the interregnum of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, poetries composed in the late 70s and the 80s carry the style of realism. Painful memories reflected to poetries during this period as well, which enabled the complimentary emotions towards hometown specific and complete. In the end of 80s and start of 90s, influenced by the literature tide titled as "seeking roots", Poet Jin’s emotions about hometown became more and more abundant, some feelings like hate and pain emerged as well, showing more realistic and expressive. During this period, Poet really missed real hometown because transferring to work in Beijing; not only did he missed the hometown as a geological concept, also he missed every kind of objects and persons, thus this kind of homesick involves more substances, such as his old mom, old friends, the intimate friend who can be regarded as a little girlfriend and grow up with him, first lover, passing youth, etc.All in all, the meaning of hometown includes more and more abundantly and deeply, from other perspective, however, there is a contradictory side. The young Poet living in the 50s and 60s, is full of optimistic and positive spirits and hopes, but laypeople in realistic hometown were bearing poverty and sufferings, which he just turned a blind eye to. He only cared about pursuing the political correction, so what the truly meaning of hometown?Furthermore, the geological space of hometown changed a lot since political environment gained more freedom. Then the question of where is his hometown comes again.Images of wars vary as following statements. War, is a complimentary object filled with victorious belief for young Poet Jin, hence he paid tributes to wars sightlessly, never taking individual tragedies of losing life during wars. Later, he transformed the image of war to sorrowful and thought-provoking in poetries, instead of complimentary. On the contrary, Poet Jin described War as a ridiculous and nonsensical image in the 90s. It’s meaningful to research this change. To illustrate, young poet Jin emphasized on contradiction between enemies and people, whose thinking way was radically either-black-or-white effected by political ideology. Gradually realizing and distinguishing the value of myself from ourselves, Poet Jin, however, started focusing on individual values, also began keeping subtle emotions, making thoughts more specific and realizing the value and respect of life as well; meanwhile, he paid sympathy towards sacrifices and victims in wars instead of pure compliments, further, thinking the value of life deeply.Researches over female images by Poet as following:there are two kinds of characters of females, one is motherhood, another is femininity. Images of mother became more and more real and abundant in poetries as Poet grew up. The image of mother described by the young Poet is a wishful character with certain belief, enjoying life and happiness. As Poet grew up, the character of mother, however, is depicted as a laborious mom living in a tough life but full of maternal love; Consequently, Poet kept deeper love for his mother, and felt proud of her, also paid sympathy that she never enjoy a happy life, at the same time he may blame himself because lacking of total filialness, which led to his understanding about the true meaning of life through his gerontic mom. Some contradictions of the mom’s images occurred as well, for example, the mom described by the poet has a strong sense of happiness, sometimes, however, the character of mom depicted by the poet is very unfortunate. The differences is based on whether the identity of the poet is within poetries or not. If outside of poetries, the mom enjoys happiness, otherwise, unfortunate. There are three kinds of images of mom in Jin Zhe’s poetries. The first one, the universality of nature as a metaphor of mom, in which the image of mom is unselfish, with sacrificing spirits, representing the communist party and nation emblematically, as a typically idealistic but abstract character full of gratitude.Secondly, the mom described by the poet Jin when he is not a character in poetries, held dense belief, loyalty to nation and infinite satisfaction towards happiness, which is a positive and happy character of mom. This image of mom is very simple and unilateral lacking abundant emotions. Thirdly, the most real mom originating from what she really is. This image of mom, is no longer so happy, instead, she is a pitiful old woman, who even said impolite words sometimes, hence "I" feel sorry for her in poetries, which is extremely real life. The poet’s emotions in poetries are luxuriant and strong, and the artistic value of poetries is fairly high, reaching to the certain aesthetic altitude. The illumination of the mom’s characters created by the poet is also multi-side, such as the mom during his childhood, the mom as a grandma, motherhood analyzed by the relationship between wife and children, an old tree, etc.The femininity created by the poet could divide into the following four kinds: firstly, the character of wife. The abundant knowledge of the poet can be found in this kind of poetries. For instance, the wife during the time they fell in love, the wife as a mom, the wife getting old with the poet as a companion, the love of old-aged couples like tomato soup fermenting so long, all of which reflect the glamour with time. Secondly, love experienced by a third one. As the old generation, the poet concerns for new couples, and wishes them best, gives them realistic suggestions as well, which reveals the poet’s plain view of love.Thirdly, forbidden love. The poet wrote a lot of this kind of love poetries with beautiful words, but words are pale since no substantial thoughts towards love itself, even this kind of poetries involve nihilistic feelings.Fourthly, missing past romance. This kind of love, maybe is the first affection, or an instinct thinking way that combines unique regrets and homesick of an old man, for example, missing friends in childhood, the little girl who grew up with him, etc.The image of spring varies due to the age of the poet as well. The young poet compared the spring to a young attractive lady, while compared the spring to craziness when getting old, since spring past and death is coming...the variation of images of spring records the variation of his life, symbolizing a life process from growing, mature, to decrepitude. In conclusion, this 4 kinds of character research show the routine of the poet’s inner variation towards maturity, and some aspects become more abundant as he grew up, while others go the opposite way.In the end, the sixth chapter is the conclusion of my thesis. This chapter analyzes the innovations and backwards after summarizing every chapter’s research results specifically, also discusses potential research values as well.
