A Probe Into The Thought Of Ma La Sadra 's Reversion

The Involution idea is the core theory both in the Islamic kalam and Islamic philosophy (Sufism), many famous Muslim scholars such as al-Ghazali, Ibn Arabi and Ibn Sina had deep studied on this theme. The Involution idea includes the questions about spirit conception, material spirit or non-material spirit, the relationship between spirit and flesh, the questions about resurrection after death, people will resurrection by the form of spirit or flesh, if it is the form of flesh, will it is the new flesh or the flesh when s/he died, and the questions about the final lodges, will people of all come into paradises or will some of them come into hell, if goes into hell, will the attributes of hell change finally so that eliminates the punishments, and so on. In the history of Islamic studies, theologians, Sufis and philosophers discussed and developed this idea through different methods, created huge academic achievements that are worth studying.Mulla Sadra epitomized Islamic philosophy and Sufis’s gnosis sciences, on the basis of synthesizing the Graeco philosophy and all opinions of Islamic schools, he advanced a deep discussion on Involution idea and brought up a series of new opinions of originality in which including some important ideological values not only on Islamic intellectual history, but on history of the whole religious philosophy.This thesis is aimed at analyzing and discussing the involution idea of Mulla Sadra. The full text includes three parts:First is introduction, including the origin of study and the meaning of this topic, the correlational studies, and the methodologies and main theories.Second is the foundation of Islamic belief, the involution idea of al-Ghazali, Ibn Arabi and Ibn Sina, and the involution idea of Mulla Sadra. Mulla sadra detailedly discussed the thoughts about spirit, transmigration and bodily involution. He studied the spirit thought from the aspects of non-material and eternal spirit, relations between spirit and body, the functions of spirit, and maintained that spirit is created from and achieves perfection in body, the spirit will deviate from the body when it become perfection. On the basis of such opinion, Mulla Sadra criticized transmigration thought, one of his basic concept was the perfect spirit need not return to the body, so no transmigration. Mulla Sadra also talked about bodily involution ideology, especially on the existential process and ultimate existential state of spirit at beyond world.Third is the conclusion, Mulla Sadra’s thoughts with some originality generate great influences on nowadays and are focused by more and more scholars, Chinese Islamic studies also talked and talking about the involution thought, so it is better to develop a comparative study between Mulla Sadra’s thoughts and Chinese Islamic thoughts, maybe this will bring some new inspirations on religious dialogues.
