Since the late 20th century, accompanied by the global era of "economic globalization and political multi-polarization", the liberal multiculturalism thought in Western has begun sweeping the world, the nationalist cry and restlessness has risen again. Under the urging and mobilization of local ethnic nationalism, national (or ethnic) identity of minorities in multi-national state, has been strengthened, accordingly may weaken the state identity, state unity and stability is under serious threat. Thus, the "national identity" has not only become the very sensitive topic of today’s international politics, doubly concerned by academia and theorists. However, when we throughout today’s academia on the issue of national identity, based on the investigation of the Marxist perspective, it is very rare, or just scattered with a general discussion in the comparative perspective of the Western national theory, a systematic and comprehensive analysis and draw insightful view of the writings are even scarcer. Thus, the paper select this domain of" Research on the Problem of ’National Identity’ in Marxist Perspective", trying to comb main theoretical points of "national identity", and applied to the historical investigation and realistic analysis of "the Chinese national identity", to summary some thinking about strengthening "the Chinese national identity", for reference to theory and academia.To examine the historical evolution of Marxism national concept, from the mention of the national concept to the definition, and to the debate, both analysis the objective and subjective factors of the plight of national concept as defined, but also put forward several proposals to study deeply of the national concept. And, from the concepts and definitions of Marxism national problems, to the roots and essence of the national problem, and to the principles and strategies of solve national issuses, to review seriously and fine combing,Nearly 30 years, about the relevant concepts, translation, the relationship between concepts, basic theoretical perspectives, research methods of "nation" and "national identity", this paper has combed systematically, and to analyze the main problems, propose new thinking for future research.Through the historical expedition of "the Chinese national identity", after tracing the external factors (pressure) and internal factors (motivation) of "the Chinese national identity", pointed out:in history, all nations in China identity that Chinese culture! Each China’s nation identity the Chinese Nation! The conclusion of the historical development is:Han is inseparable from minorities, minorities can not be separated from the Han, and between each other can not be separated from the various minority. However, it is undeniable that existence of some problems explicitly or implicitly about on "the Chinese national identity", the main reason is that the two aspects of the history and reality.Attempts to explore the fate of the nation-state, examine four trends of the development of "national identity" based on the grand vision of globalization, and the development of "the Chinese national identity" should have some favorable factors.Clearly, the symptom of the problem of "national identity" (or the crisis of "state identity") in contemporary nation-state is the tension between "nation identity" and "state identity". How to resolve this tension? Thus, the article tries to analysis the substance of the national state, combined with thinking of the deficiency of the existing theoretical paradigm, and to explore the path of the "integration", that is, by constructing "state nation" to achieve the harmonious relationship between "nation identity" and "state identity". In order to strengthen "the Chinese national identity", the general path is, (1) from the "national identity" to "state identity", and (2) the integration of "national identity" and "state identity", and other ways.
