China’s interest rate marketization is an important link to optimize the allocation of financial resources and deepen the reform of the financial system. China is a bank dominated financial system and the banking industry has a pivotal position. Not only that, due to the characteristics of explanted financial system, commercial banks are the financial organizations embedded between residents and entities, which have a lot of responsibility on absorbing in the consumer surplus funds of the whole society and applying in the real economy, and commercial banks control the key link from savings to investment. The advance of interest rate marketization will affect on commercial banks. Lacking the ability of risk management, some commercial banks will be at risk, which may affect the stability of the economic system. Therefore, research on risk management of commercial banks in China under the condition of interest rate marketization has important theoretical and practical significance.Based on the background of interest rate marketization, combining the characteristic of explanted financial system and the advantage of seller of commercial banks, the dissertation has a detailed analysis of impact of commercial banks’ assets, liabilities, income and profitability, studies systematically on the change of commercial banks’ risk profile, including the risk preference, risk relevance, new characteristics of credit risk, liquidity risk and interest rate risk. Finally the dissertation puts forward the risk management suggestions to deal with the interest rate marketization. All of the studies are closely linked to the conditions of interest rate marketization and take the changes to commercial banks brought about by interest rate marketization as a starting point. The study not only fully consideres the current situation of our country, but also judge the future combined with foreign experience.The dissertation takes comparative analysis, historical analysis, case study and macro analysis methods. The thesis expounds above thoughts from seven chapters:The first chapter is an introduction. It describes the background and significance of the study, current research, the main contents and systematic framework, methodology and major innovations.The second chapter studies the process of interest rate marketization at home and abroad, the foreign countries’ revelation of the market-oriented reform of interest rate for China, and how to accelerate it in China.The third chapter studies the impact on foeign banks by the interest rate marketization and their countermeasures. It takes the United States and Japan as study sample, analyzes the impact on liabilities, assets, income, savings and loan spreads, profitability and industry structure of commercial banks, explores the measures taked by foreign banks to deal with.The fourth chapter studies the impact on China’s commercial banks by the interest rate marketization from the reality of China, based on the conclusion of the previous chapter.The fifth chapter studies the risk changes of China’s commercial banks under the condition of interest rate marketization, including the new features of the overall risk preference, risk correlation, credit risk, liquidity risk and interest rate risk.The sixth chapter studies the risk management measures taked by China’s commercial banks to deal with the impact of interest rate marketization. It comprehensively analyses the gap between the present situation of risk management of China’s commercial banks and the demands of interest rate marketization, learns from the successful experience of international advanced commercial banks, and puts forward suggestions of risk management for China’s commercial banks to cope with interest rate marketization.The final chapter is the conclusion of this article, summarizing the main conclusions and putting forward some related problems to be studied.
