Nowadays, companies are in a complex and volatile market, and communication among all these firms becomes increasingly important. In the development process, enterprises not only rely on its own endogenous growth, but also depend on resources outside. How to improve the competitiveness of construction enterprises in China has attracted attention of the entire industry, Chinese construction industry is in a critical period of transformation and upgrading, so how to make full use of external resources, to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises is related to the survival and development of construction enterprises, which is one of the key problems.In the development process, construction enterprises have been busy dealing with external relations, and "Guanxi" was once labeled for them in the projects bidding, however, with Chinese economic development, the intensity and scope of market supervision are gradually upgrading, so construction enterprises need to re-examine the external environment for future development, and learn to manage external stakeholders and balance benefit distribution. Therefore, it is needed to study its influence on the competitiveness of enterprises from the perspective of stakeholders. Researches about stakeholders on how to influence the competitiveness of enterprises and the degree of influence on the competitiveness of enterprises are mainly concerned on qualitative analysis by building management models, lacking of empirical support.The study of construction enterprise competitiveness based on Stakeholder cooperation is the core from the perspective of enterprises external stakeholders. There are six parts:1) Summarize research about stakeholders, inter-enterprise relationship and enterprise competitiveness, and reveal that external stakeholders have significant impact on the development of construction enterprises, and confirm that cooperation among stakeholders is the most important thing for enterprises development.2) There are four dimensions under the concept of cooperation, which are trust, commitment, communication and coordination.3) In the first survey, clients, suppliers and government are top there stakeholders for construction enterprises.4) Build models about cooperation acting on competitiveness, analyze how different stakeholders act on competitiveness, and put forward hypotheses.5) After the second investigation was adopted and data was collected, structural equation model(SEM) tests and multivariate regression(MR) analysis are carried on, testing and analysis hypothesis, and suggestions to enhance the competitiveness of construction enterprises are given.6) Summarize the main conclusions of this paper, the innovation points and research prospects.There are four main conclusions:1) Clients, suppliers and government are top there stakeholders for construction enterprises.2) There are four dimensions under the concept of cooperation, which are trust, commitment, communication and coordination. 3) Analysis of the impact of the quality of cooperation on the competitiveness of the same stakeholders show that clients, suppliers and government relationship quality have positive effect on the competitiveness of enterprises, and cooperation relationship between that construction enterprises and stakeholders has a significant promoting effect. In the construction enterprises and clients’model, trust, communication and coordination have a positive impact on relationship quality; in the construction enterprises and government’model, communication and coordination have a positive impact on relationship quality; and in the construction enterprises and suppliers’model, trust, commitment, communication and coordination have a positive impact on relationship quality.4) Analysis of the impact of the same cooperation dimension on the competitiveness of the different stakeholders show that clients, government and suppliers have a positive impact on the enterprises competitiveness in the trust dimension; clients and suppliers have a positive impact on the enterprises competitiveness in communication dimension; clients, government and suppliers have a positive impact on the enterprises competitiveness in the communication dimension; government and suppliers have a positive impact on the enterprises competitiveness in the coordination dimension. Finally, according to the results of empirical analysis, some proposals are proposed for construction enterprises to enhance their competitiveness.There are four main innovation points:1) Develop relationship quality measurement scales on different stakeholders of construction enterprises.2) Take two different empirical analysis applying SEM and MR for analysis of the impact of the quality of cooperation on the competitiveness of the same stakeholders and analysis of the impact of the same cooperation dimension on the competitiveness of the different stakeholders.4) Establish model of among enterprise stakeholder relationship, enterprise behavior and enterprise competitiveness.Cooperation among Construction enterprises and their stakeholders is thoroughly discussed about definition, dimensions and action mechanism, enriching the connotation of external relationship compared with supply chain and partners relationship. Stakeholder theory and enterprise competitiveness research is combined, providing a quantitative basis to determine the stakeholder relationship management focuses for construction enterprise, and suggestions to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises are put forward on these studies.
