The combination of product differentiation, competition and collusion theory is an important research area. Based on these studies, the affection of product of horizontal differentiation, vertical differentiation on competition and collusion strategies of manufacturer are studied in more depth, which mainly include the analysis of yield, quality, price competitive and collusive behavior between manufacturers, as well as entry deterrence Strategy. Express industry is a typical oligopolistic competition industry, collusion between service providers easily occur, which has an important influence on production decisions competitive, pricing decisions and decision-making between courier service providers, thereby affect consumer welfare, as well as the courier industry market structure.In this dissertation, in order to analyze the influence of product differentiation on competition and collusion strategies and its stability, collusion theory, game theory, cournot model of product differentiation, Laneaster model and the their extended models were used from the static, dynamic two angles, to reveal competition and collusion mechanism. Finally, take China’s domestic off-site express industry as an example, whose competitive and collusion behaviors are systematically expounded, and effective competition, collusion recommendations were proposed from the courier service providers and public policy perspective.This study is divided into nine chapters.Firstly, the research background, meaning, related research situation, assumptions, architecture, research methods, innovation were described.Secondly, the theoretical basis of research were stated, including the theory of industrial organization, game theory, product differentiation, tacit collusion theory, the regulation of minimum quality standards, and entry deterrence theory, involving each of the relevant contents more detail.Thirdly, from the perspective of horizontal differentiation of products, competitive equilibrium of manufacturers in complete monopoly, duopoly competition, meanwhile decisions, sequential decision were analyzed and compared; competitive equilibrium of costs and product differentiation with incomplete information were discussed; entry deterrence Strategies of three monopolists were analyzed.Fourthly, based on duopoly and oligopoly of three markets, yield repeated game models were established, whose fixed points and their stability were analyzed respectively; then, the stability region of Nash equilibrium point, production bifurcation diagram of the system were painted by numerical simulation after the assignment and the model parameters description; the influence of yield adjustment speed, products alternative on the system behavior were discussed, economic explanation were also given.Fifthly, the influence of product differentiation on "collusion", "betrayal" behavior was discussed used static and dynamic game theory. Influence of product differentiation on collusion and collusion conspiracy behavior were discussed used static game theory; the influence of different punishment regulatory under product differentiation degree on complicity stability was compared; the influence of tit-tat strategy and tit-tat strategy with collusion will under yield incomplete information on complicity stability was also compared.Sixthly, analyzes the product vertical differentiation under manufacturers to enter, to stop the behavior, research, compare completely monopolized vendor market behavior, the two firms at the same time the quality of positioning, high and low quality firms respectively in the absence of minimum quality regulation and under different government minimum quality of regulatory sequences consistent quality orientation, incumbent competition, Entered Block, enter the policy makers to follow the behavior of the mechanism.Seventhly, based on product vertical differentiation, the influence of product differentiation, quality, price wars, demand fluctuations, quit possibility on collusion, betrayal behavior was discussed.The eighth chapter is policy suggestions and empirical analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, related countermeasure for effective competition were proposed; the existence of competition and collusion behavior between courier service providers was proved, and orderly competition, collusion proposals were proposed.Lastly, research limitations and further research directions were presented. Main conclusions and research perspectives of the study were summarized. Then, deficiencies in theory, study scope, empirical research, as well as direction of future research were pointed out.
