Taxonomy And Molecular Phylogeny Of Several Genera Of Xylariaceae From China

Eight genera of Xylariaceous fungi include 89 species in total in this studies. There was 1 new record genus in China and 1 new record genus in Chinese mainland,10 new species,26 new record in China and 32 new record in Chinese mainland in this studies. There was 1 species of Creosphaeria,4 species of Daldinia,33 species of Hypoxylon,2 species of Kretzschmaria,1 species of Kretzschmariella,2 species of Nemania,1 species of Rosellina and 45 species of Xylaria. Determined and described the morphologic characters and the studies of molecular biology based on ITS sequence were segregated from every species and built the phylogenetic tree. Then, discussed the questions of taxonomy and molecular phylogenetic relationship of eight genera.Creosphaeria was discribed as new record genus in Chinese mainland. There was only 1 species are reported, it is Creosphaeria sassafras (Schwein.:Fr.), is new record of Chinese mainland.There were four species of Daldinia are discribed. Three species of Daldinia cudonia (Berk. & M. A. Curtis) C. G. Lloyd, Daldinia fissa C. G. Lloyd, Daldinia steglichii M. Stadler were firstly recorded to China. One species was firstly recorded in Chinese mainland.There were two species of Kretzschmaria were reported. Kretzschmaria deusta (Hoffm.:Fr.) P. Martin was firstly recorded to China, and Kretzschmaria pavimentosa (Ces.) P. Martin was firstly recordedin Chinese mainland.Kretzschmariella was discribed as new record genus in China. There was only 1 species are reported, it is Kretzschmariella culmorum (Cooke) Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers, is new record of China.There were 33 species of Hypoxylon are discribed. Hypoxylon aeneo-viridis H.X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li was discribed as new. In subgenus Annulata,2 species of Hypoxylon discophorum Penz. & Sacc. and Hypoxylon microcarpum Penz. & Sacc were firstly recorded to China. Four species of Hypoxylon anthochroum Berk. & Broome, Hypoxylon dieckmannii Theiss., Hypoxylon gilbertsonii Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers and Hypoxylon jecorinum Berk. & Ravenel apud Berk, were firstly recorded to China in subgenus Hypoxylon. And in subgenus Annulata,5 species of Hypoxylon elevatidiscus Y.-M. Ju, J. D. Rogers et Hsieh, Hypoxylon cf. moriforme Henn., Hypoxylon moriforme Henn. var. microdiscus Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers, Hypoxylon nitens (Ces.) Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers, Hypoxylon urceolatum (Rehm) Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers were firstly recorded in Chinese mainland, and sixteen species of Hypoxylon cinnabarinum (Henn.) Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers. Hypoxylon crocopeplum Berk. & M. A. Curtis apud Berk., Hypoxylon lenormanndii Berk. & M. A. Curtis apud Berk., Hypoxylon lienhwacheese Y.M. Ju & J.D. Rogers. Hypoxylon monticulosum Mont., Hypoxylon perforatum (Schwein.:Fr.) Fr., Hypoxylon pilgerianum Henn., Hypoxylon retpela Van der Gucht & Van der Veken, Hypoxylon subgilvum Berk. & Broome, Hypoxylon trugodes Berk. & Broome, Hypoxylon vinosopulvinatum Y.M. Ju, J.D. Rogers & H.M. Hsieh were firstly recorded in Chinese mainland in subgenus Hypoxylon.There were two species of Nemania were firstly reported in China as new record. They are Nemania aenea (Nitschke) Pouzar var. aenea and Nemania serpens (Pers.:Fr.) S. F. Gray var. hydnicola (Schwein.) Y.-M. Ju & J. D. Rogers。There was 1 species of Rosellina are reported, it is Rosellinia corticium (Schwein.) Sacc., is new record of Chinese mainland.There were 45 species of Xylaria were discribed. Nine species were discribed as new species. They were Xylaria ficicola H.-X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li, Xylaria meliacola H.-X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li, Xylaria dolichatrichus H.-X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li, Xylaria citricola H.-X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li, Xylaria pallida-stipes H.-X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li, Xylaria semisphaera H.-X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li, Xylaria atrisphaera H.-X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li, Xylaria choui H.X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li, Xylaria fusospora H.X. Ma, Lar.N. Vassiljeva & Yu Li. Thirteen species of Xylaria adscendens (Fr.) Fr., Xylaria arenicola Welw. & Currey, Xylaria copelandi P. Henn., Xylaria enteroleuca (Speg.) P. Martin, Xylaria involuta (Klotzsch.) Cooke., Xylaria juniperus Starb. var. asperula Starb., Xylaria liquidambar J.D. Rogers, Xylaria myosurus Mont., Xylaria piperiformis Berk., Xylaria psidii J.D. Rogers & Hemmes, Xylaria pyramidata Berk. & Broome, Xylaria telfairii Berk. & Fr., Xylaria venustula Sacc. were firstly recorded to China. Twelve species of Xylaria arbuscula Sacc., Xylaria areolata (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Y.M. Ju & J.D. Rogers, Xylaria badia Pat., Xylaria bambusicola Y.M. Ju & J.D. Rogers, Xylaria brunneovinosa Y.M. Ju & H.M. Hsieh, Xylaria cubensis (Mont.) Fr., Xylaria curta Fr., Xylaria escharoidea (Berk,) Fr, Xylaria laevis C.GLloyd, Xylaria multiplex (Kunze) Fr., Xylaria papulis C.G.Lloyd, Xylaria schweinitzii Berk. & Curt, were firstly recorded in Chinese mainland.Advanced research and discussed the result of morphology by molecular biology methods, and got the phylogenic evolutionary relationship inter the Xylaria genus or among the other genus. The results of constructed the phylogenetic tree base on the ITS sequences of the genus Creosphaeria, Daldinia, Hypoxylon, Kretzschmaria, Nemania, Rosellina and Xylaria showed that the genus framework of molecular phylogenic relationship inter this genus were clear. They had almost the same results through analyzing the relationships of the genus base on the three analysis methods.We accepted most of the genera of the familiy in two large groups, the Hypoxyloideae, characterized by the production of stromatal pigments of KOH and Nodulisporrium-like anamorphs (e.g. Hypoxylon, Biscogniauxia, Camillea, Daldinia), and Xylarioideae, which do not yield stromatal pigments in KOHand produce Geniculosporium-like anamorphs (e.g. Xylaria, Rosellinia, Nemania). The view was supported by molecular biology methods and got the phylogenic tree based on ITS sequences.
