Based on traditional digital stereo photography, the dissertation has established akind of digital stereo photography which is suitable to measure the wave on the shoreor aboard. The theory and programming of this system are given in the second, thirdand fourth chapter. Experimental results of this system are given in the fifth and sixthchapter. The fifth chapter gives the experimental results in the laboratory, and thesixth chapter gives the experimental results in the field. The first chapter develops current situation of the stereo photography and thetopical importance of the dissertation, and then describes the main work and structureof dissertation.According to the characteristics of sea surface and non-measurement camera, the second chapter suggests and discusses a new method of the relative orientation. When the inner orientation elements, distortion coefficients and relative orientationelements are unknown the dissertation uses the distance equation between two pointsin the object and the coplanar equation as the condition equations and uses thecondition adjustment methods with parameters to solve the unknown parameters. Thedissertation gives the detailed theory formulas, calculation steps and programmingmethod of this process. Finally the feature point matching method is developed on thechapter.According to being impossible to establish coordinate system in object andmeasure the point's coordinates of sea surface before stereo photographing, a newmethod that establishes the coordinate system is developed on the third chapter. Andthe third chapter still suggests and discusses a method of determining inversionregion. The fourth chapter mainly discusses the image matching. Firstly the dissertationdiscusses the object-based image matching of the least square method, and then givesthe calculation method of correlation coefficients, image interpolation method andbinary cubic polynomial interpolation method used in the sea surface fitting. The fifth chapter matches the experimental results and the theoretical resultsdiscussed in the second, third and fourth chapter in the order of program calculation. The experiments validate the correctness of the theory. In addition, in view of theproblem of that the baseline can not be measured precisely, the dissertation has given the method that using the residual of condition adjustment to determine the length ofbaseline. In view of inevitable matching errors, the paper has given the error removingmethod according to the actual situation and has gotten better results. Finally thesoftware plots the contour plots and digital elevation map£¨DEM£which areconsistent with the actual situation. The sixth chapter, according to the theory in the second, third and fourth chapterand the process discussed in the this chapter, the image pairs collected in the XiaoMai Dao become into the contour plots and digital elevation map(DEM). And thedetailed calculation process is discussed on the chapter. The main content of the dissertation is summarized and the future works aredeveloped in the seventh chapter. The summary includes the main contributions andinnovative points. In a word, the dissertation has studied and presented a kind of practical digitalstereo photography system, wrote the software in MATLAB. And the experimentalresults have validated the correctness and utility of the theory.
