The measurement of carbon content at the end point of BOF online has been the world's problems to be solved in the metallurgical industry. The precise controlling carbon content of steel at the end point of of the BOF has great significance in improving quality and output of steel, reducing steel production costs, improving the level of automation, saving energy and other aspects.This paper analyzes the main BOF endpoint control line three ways which are widely used:Experience control, static control and dynamic control, for the problems of these three existing methods, a spectral detection techniques used to Detection carbon content of steel at the end point of BOF are proposed. designing a flame spectrum information collection system for the BOF's environment, in which a CCD fiber spectrometer is used as the core detector, which could achieve a long-distance and non-contact detection; using the small field of the telescope system, which makes the root of the flame spectral information can be obtained, ensuring that the flame's state of this area is local thermal equilibrium, at the same time, the shaking of spectrum could be eliminated; by analyzing the shape of the flame changes in spectral distribution, the regular of the spectral distribution's variation is able to respond during converter blowing; by support vector machine learning algorithm for modeling, choosing spectral intensity of several wavelengths which could describe the spectral distribution's variation as the input parameters, and creating a new parameter which could responses steel's state as the output parameters of model. The model could achieve an online real-time control system, the results show that the SVM model could meet requirements of the low-carbon control; fitting the continuous spectrum of converter steelmaking furnace mouth part of the flame Furnace flame spectrum continuous spectrum and elemental Characteristic lines of the emission spectrum can be obtained, by spectral theory the distribution's changes of the flame furnace mouth is described; using flame atomic emission of the characteristic lines intensity, the temperature inside the molten steel can be calculated; comparison the continuous absorption curve with decarbonization rate equation curve of the BOF, and the results shows that error between the calculated temperature; a method to achieve the parameters of the carbon content of molten steel furnace real-time monitoring is approached.Research methods and techniques used to avoid the instability of adding raw materials, the complex chemical reactions in the process of blowing and the scope of the strict kind of blown steel-making and other aspects which should impact the on-line measurement carbon content of BOF., it will enhance the technological level of traditional industries and promote modernization of technological equipment in the Metallurgical industry.
