The transition metal catalyzed organic reactions have been hot topic of the global organic chemistry community. A lot of labs all over the world, universities and research institutes, are focused on the topic. As the reactivity and stability, palladium catalysts have been widely used in organic reactions, it has been a global concern.And I had the great honor involved in the research groups of Professor Yong-Min Liang and Professor Jin-Quan Yu, to study on new methods of palladium-catalyzed domino reaction to build quinoline ring, as well as through the palladium-catalyzed hydrocarbon activation to build a new carbon-carbon bond.This thesis includes the following:In first chapter, recent studies about palladium and other transition metal-catalyzed cyclization to build quinoline are reviewed. Our work about palladium-catalyzed domino reaction to build quinoline was introduced, and the reaction mechanism was also studied.In second chapter, recent developments of palladium-catalyzed aromatic ring C-H activation to build a new carbon-carbon bond are reviewed. Our research about palladium-catalyzed C-H activation to build new carbon-carbon bond was described, and the mechanism was also studied. The following aspects were include:(1) We overviewd recent reports on olefination via transition metal catalyzed C-H Activation on Aromatics. We also want to report our work abou Pd-catalyzed C3olefination of unprotected pyridines. And we performed a kinetic isotope effect study on this reaction to gain insights into this reaction mechanism.(2) We overviewd recent reports on arylation via transition metal catalyzed C-H Activation on Aromatics. We want to report our work abou Pd-catalyzed C-3arylation of unprotected pyridines. We also reported a brief synthesis of the drug molecule (±)-preclamol. And we proposed the reaction mechanism via a kinetic isotope effect and Competition experiments.(3) We also want to report our work about Pd-catalyzed C-3selective oxidative coupling of pyridines. And we discussed the reaction mechanism.
