From the cooling theory of cool wool and according to the fibers' moving rules during spinning, a yarn having a central core and a sheath was built by using two kinds of viscose fibers which have different diameters, this new yarn assembles wool's cross-sectional profile and is absorbent and dry-fast. The new yarn's outside is mostly composed of thicker hydrophobic fibers, while its inside is composed of thinner hydrophilic fibers. The parts of hydrophilic fibers in this new yarn's outside surface act as wicking windows to absorb the perspiration into the yarn. Meanwhile the most hydrophobic fibers in the yarn's outside surface can isolate the perspiration, and keep the skin surface dry. The results demonstrated that the fabric, made by the new sheath-core yarns with absorbent & dry-fast properties, has obvious absorbency, transmitting perspiration and dry-fast effect. And when the content of the water-repellent crude fibers was designed as 30%, the fabric's sweat absorption and dry-fast quality are better.A single construction and single-side moisture transported fabric was developed. Warp and weft with different absorbent & dry property were chosen to build "bilateral structure" and single-side moisture transported fabric by the use of 1/3 twill. The inside of the fabric (the side to be worn next to the skin) is composed primarily by the " cortex & core " and water-repellent yarn, so the inside has discontinuous hydrophobicity. The outside of the fabric (the side contacting with air) is composed mostly by hydrophilic fibers, so the outside has good hydrophilicity and has higher absorbent capacity than the inside. It demonstrated, when meeting with the perspiration (liquid), such fabric can pull (liquid) perspiration away from the inside of the fabric and transporting to the outside of the fabric where the moisture evaporate. Since the dryness rate of the fabric is enhanced and tend to keep the individual dryer. A single construction and single-side moisture transported fabric has been designed through single-side finishing. With the pure cotton fabric as the target of study, using printing techniques, a new "bilateral structure" & single construction and single-side moisture transported fabric was made by controlling the penetrating depth and distribution state of hydrophobic finishing agent. Meanwhile there are the transmitting channels among the hydrophobic surface to allow liquid moisture wicking away from the inside of the fabric to the outside for spreading and evaporating rapidly. The inside of the fabric is discontinuously hydrophobic while the outside of the fabric has excellent hydrophilicity, so the "bilateral structure" fabric with different hydrophilic or hydrophobic properties was formed. The study verified when the single water-repellent area rate of the fabric was 40%, the thermo-humid of the fabric and the perception of comfort of the wearer are better. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | cellulosic fiber, moisture absorption, moisture pulling, dry-fast, "cortex & core" constructive yarn, bilateral structure, single-side moisture transporting | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
