Most of the information we human being receive comes from vision, among which the chromatic information occupy a dominant position. So the color vision is the most important part of vision. Normal color perception depends on the absorption of light by the three classes of cone photoreceptor in human's retina. But any malfunction of the cones can lead to abnormal color appreciation. It's called color vision deficiencies. Many forms of which are congenital in origin, although it can be acquired as a result of eye disease, or as a side effect of medication.Color vision research is a rapid developing interdisciplinary study field, and the research of color vision deficiencies is the central and basic part of it. The work of evaluate exactly and correct partly to the color-deficient people is very important and intractability. In a word, it is very significant on science and society. But clinical color vision testing is belongs to the psychophysics, and difficulty to find an objective standard in the diagnosis of color deficiency. For the problem, the development orientation of color vision research and evaluation is analyzed in this dissertation. The aim and content of research were grounded on the current development of colorimetry, ophthalmology, electrophysiology, and so on. A system of color vision deficiencies measurement and evaluation based on chromatic visual evoked potential was proposed to fulfill the objective requirement in color vision deficiencies research.The main conclusion and originality are as follows:Firstly, the testing method of color vision deficiencies based on chromatic visual evoked potential was developed, and the technical scheme was framed as measuring the equi-luminance turning curves. Author used the equi-luminance point as the parameter of color vision deficiencies creatively. The measurement system was designed based on digital signal processing and the evaluation program was coding. The correctness and feasibility of dissertation was proved by theory calculate and clinic experiment.Secondly, the noise of the visual evoked potential was analytical studied. Theidea that using the wavelet transform for VEP de-noising was presented by comparing the de-noised ways. The algorithm of wavelet multiresolution and wavelet transform modulus maxima reconstruction was described. New method was proved not only good for de-noised but also reflected the dynamic behavior of evoked potential.Finally, the idea of color vision evaluation system was presented originality. By the explanation analysis for the concept of color vision evaluation and the design of evaluate indicator system, the process of color vision evaluation was established. Using the measurement system and analysis software, the color vision of subject can be evaluated and graded. So the dissertation formed an organic and scientific system.The research findings of the dissertation inaugurated the new direction and route of color vision and color vision deficiencies research, and supplied the technology support of color vision research. It's had constructive significance of theory and practice. On the other hand, the multidisciplinary approach to research was explored. The corresponding ideas and methods made distinctive contributions to the subsequence study.
