| Migraine, with the character of palpitating pain by one or two sides, is one of the mostcommon diseases that recurs easily. Because of its high morbidity and ratio of recurring,migraine disturbs human living quality severely. With the developing of the society, the pressof human beings becomes higher and higher, and the morbidity of migraine increasesgradually. The expense of the labor and money caused by migraine are stupendous. There ismuch experience and lots of therapies of TCM in treating migraine. With modern scientificmethod, Exploiting the experience and improving the clinic effect, have tremendous social andeconomic advantage. With the development of Evidence-Based Medicine and the foundation of the ways ofclinical epidemiology, it provides new chances and new challenges to study TraditionalChinese Medicine & herb. It is important and necessary to set up a comprehensive evaluatingsystem of Migraine based on the TCM theory .We couldn't get an exact and general evaluationand couldn't communicate with the world without it. This study is based on the experience of our department and the review of the documents,combined with my tutor's clinic experience in the treatment of migraine. We established thetherapy principle of dispelling wind and activating blood circulation, warming meridian andrelief of pain. The Naotongliting Tablet is mainly made up of Chuanxiong, Baizhi, Wuzhuyuto treat migraine which is related to the syndrome of blood stasis due to cold. We observed theeffect and studied the mechanism by clinical research and experiment study. We discussed thefoundation of the evaluation system of migraine based on the TCM theory by the clinicalresearch at the same time. With the Yangxueqingnao Grain and Flunarizine hydrochloride Tablet as the controlledgroups, we studied the effect of the Naotongliqing undecocted Grain through the random andcontrast clinical research. With the studying of 85 migraine patients, we conclude that theeffective ratio of Naotongliqing Tablet and Yangxueqingnao Grain is 58.62% and 48.15%respectively. Both effects of them are better than the Flunarizine hydrochloride Tablet. Thesetwo drugs can also improve the concomitant symptoms and increase the scores of thesyndrome of blood stasis. Yangxueqingnao Grain can also improve the mood of the patients.(In the aspect of alleviating pain instantly, the effects of these two drugs arecomparative,)Both of Yangxueqingnao Grain and Naotongliqing Tablet can alleviate paininstantly, but the action of former lasts 4 hours after drinking the drug at the first time, whilethe latter 12 hours. We discuss the foundation of the evaluation system of migraine based on the TCM theory,and find out that we should put Chinese medicine syndrome, concomitant symptoms and thepsychology factors into the evaluation system of migraine. In the study of the migraine, wefind out that the gender is one of the prognostic factors. The female has a better future than themale. Experiment study is mainly about Naotongliqing Tablet's effect of treating migraine. Weset up three groups according to the different dose (three times of the equal effect of clinicdrugs, the equal effect of clinic drugs and 1/3 times of the equal effect of clinic drugs). Weused Fufangyangjiao Capsule and Fortanodyn as the contrast drugs. By hot plate test andwrithing test, we observed the effect of Naotongliqing Tablet alleviating pain, and found outthat all of the three groups of Naotongliting can heighten the pain threshold obviously anddecrease the times of writhing. It is corresponding with Fortanodyn and better than the groupof Fufangyangjiao Capsule and 0.9% sodium chloride. We also found the larger dose, thebetter effect. With the Fufangyangjiao Capsule and Diazepam as the contrast drugs, we studied theNaotongliting's hypnosis effect cooperating with pentobarbital sodium. We found out that themedium dose group of Naotongliting has the comparative effect with Diazepam, and is betterthan 0.9% sodium chloride.
