The research of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) on the theory of five circuits and six qi focused on its epidemiological aspects.Few studies could be found in its clinic application. A research on the relationship between six-meridian syndrome differentiation and six qi controlling heaven not only fills in the gaps of the theoretical study of circuit and qi,but also adds category for TCM diagnostics.Part one six-meridian syndrome differentiationThe thesis briefly stated ways of annotation for the outline of syndrome of six-meridian by successive doctors,such as zang-organs and meridians,meridian courses,theory of qi transformation,division of six-meridian,and so forth.Among these methods,zang organs and meridians,meridian courses,and theory of qi transformation are the best explanations which are related with syndrome of the meridian.Then in the second part,the thesis discussed the relationship between the outline of syndrome of six-meridian and syndrome of twelve meridians.Part two outline of syndrome of six-meridian and syndrome of twelve meridiansCompared the outline of syndrome of six-meridian with syndrome of same name meridians of hand and foot(like the Hand Taiyin Lung Meridian and Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian),it can be deduced that syndrome of meridians conforms to the outline of syndrome of six-meridian.Due to the narration in Linshu.Jingmai,it could be found same or similar states in the outline of taiyang and shaoyang diseases,respectively to syndrome of taiyang in both hand and foot,syndrome of shaoyang in both hand and foot.The outlines of syndrome of the rest four-meridian correspond with syndrome of meridians of the hand or syndrome of meridians of the foot.Therefore,in part three,according to the annotations for syndromes of six qi controlling heaven by successive doctors,it discussed the relationship between syndromes of six qi controlling heaven and syndrome of twelve meridians.Part three six qi controlling heaven and syndrome of twelve meridiansCompared with the related paragraphs of six qi controlling heaven in Suwen Wuchang Zhengda Lun,Suwen Liuyuan Zhengji Dalun,and Suwen Zhizhen Yaoda Lun,the one in Suwen.Liuyuan Zhengji Dalun is the simplest,and describes syndromes of six qi controlling heaven in an outlined way.Compared with narration in Suwen.Liuyuan Zhengji Dalun,the description in Suwen.Wuchang Zhengda Lun is more concrete,while depiction in Suwen Zhizhen Yaoda Lun is the most concrete and accurate.From the above,they are related with each other.Syndromes of six-qi controlling heaven have a high relativity with syndrome of meridians. Besides course of the meridian pattern,it contains zang-fu disease so does in syndromes of six qi controlling heaven.Compared the annotations for six qi controlling heaven by successive doctors,it could be deduced six-qi controlling heaven in their opinions is when the six-qi is in the most exuberant, it will appear the situation,like each phase restraining its associated phase or self-dysfunction.Part four rectifying six-meridian theory of Treatise on Exogenous Febrile DiseasesAccording to theory of six qi,it is a respective disease among six qi which respectively contains exterior syndrome,interior syndrome,transmuted pattern,and aggravated pattern. From this point,the arrangement of clauses in Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Diseases is very clear.Take syndrome of white-tiger decoction as an example.Part five wasting-thirst in six qi major controlling heavenAbout the treatment of wasting-thirst in six qi controlling heaven,though the same wasting-thirst disease,yet it is in different six qi controlling heaven,and will come about different changes which correspond with manifestation of disease under the dominant qi controlling heaven and property of the five phases.That is to say,in six qi major controlling heaven,when the dominant qi is exuberant,it will lead to syndromes of restraining its associated phase or self-damaged.Therefore,the relevant changes in different six qi major controlling heaven should be considered,in order to pursue more satisfying diagnostic treatment.In addition,from the above discussion,theory of five circuits and six qi is not exclusively applied to diagnoses in external contraction.Part six analysis of epidemic disease cases in six qi major controlling heavenThis part discusses treatment of epidemic disease in six qi major controlling heaven from case histories by successive doctors.Epidemic diseases at all times are important research subjects in public health.In general idea,because of no way to get known when to take place epidemic disease and prevalence of epidemic disease being sudden,it is difficult to inform of other places in time in ancient time.So on the diagnoses and treatment of epidemic disease, doctors always find no way out or are unable to decide which is right.Nowadays,based on theory of six qi major controlling heaven,TCM's professionals analyze case histories of epidemic disease recorded in past dynasties,in order to deduce the relationship between occurrence of epidemic disease and six qi major controlling heaven,and improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment.From the listed medical cases,syndromes of epidemic diseases in successive dynasties also followed the law of syndromes of six qi major controlling heaven.Under different climates of major controlling heaven,it will cause different syndromes.If without differentiating name of the disease,but the syndrome,according to analysis of the above case histories,it is deduced that under different climates of major controlling heaven,it will lead to main syndromes by one certain qi of six controlling heaven.If TCM's professionals master the main syndromes,it is beneficial for their diagnoses and treatment.Part seven sum-up and further study and expectation Sum-up1.Relationship among outline of syndrome of six-meridian,syndrome of twelve meridians and syndromes of six qi controlling heavenAccording to outline of syndrome of six-meridian annotated by successive doctors,ways of viscera-meridian and qi transformation are better in coherence of the whole context.What's more,from annotations by successive doctors,it could be deduced what are discussed in outline of syndrome of six-meridian belongs to diseases of viscera-meridian,partly caused by qi transformation.Based on this,compared outline of syndrome of six-meridian with syndrome of twelve meridians,it draws a conclusion that syndromes of viscera-meridian discussed in outline of syndrome of six-meridian are accordant with syndromes of same name meridians.Also syndrome of twelve meridians is equal to combination of syndrome caused by viscera-meridian and course of the meridian.After analyzing and comparing annotations for syndromes of six qi controlling heaven by successive doctors,it could be known that syndromes of six qi controlling heaven have a high relativity with syndrome of twelve meridians.Syndromes of six qi controlling heaven are mostly consistent with syndromes that one phase restrains its associated phase or of same name meridians,except discussion in formula and medicine which sometimes does not correspond.The rest basically belongs to syndromes of restraining or same name meridians.From the above explanation,outline of syndrome of six-meridian highly summarizes syndromes of six qi controlling heaven.2.It is assumed that the six-meridian diseases are caused by the six pathogenic qi respectively.From the illustrated example in Part four,six-meridian disease is the consequence of disease of the separate six qi.There are exterior syndrome,interior syndrome,transmuted pattern and aggravated pattern.Pathogens do not follow first with taiyang meridian,and then transmit to other five meridians. 3.According to the theory of six qi controlling heaven,all diseases manifest the symptoms typical to the dominant qi controlling heaven.According to discussion in part six,under the theory of six qi major controlling heaven, wasting-thirst can manifest partial symptoms and concurrent patterns that are accordant with the dominant qi controlling heaven.The same epidemic disease,with different names,yet also displays the above property.It could be drew a conclusion that under the theory of six qi controlling heaven,all diseases manifest the symptoms typical to the dominant qi controlling heaven.Further study and expectation1.Relationship among six-meridian diseases,syndrome of twelve meridians and syndromes of six qi controlling heavenThe thesis mainly discussed relationship among outline of syndrome of six-meridian, syndrome of twelve meridians and syndromes of six qi controlling heaven.However, six-meridian diseases in treatise on cold damage diseases,except outline of syndrome of six-meridian,still have plenty of clauses which are deserved to discuss the relationship among syndromes of twelve meridians and six qi controlling heaven.2.Relationships between major heaven controlling and minor heaven controllingThe author found that under the same major heaven controlling,different minor heaven controllings would come about due to the year difference;and the different minor heaven controllings would lead to accompanied symptoms and signs.In the part six,under the major heaven controlling of taiyang cold water,there were two examples recorded in commentary on complete works of summerheat damage.Also in the part six,under the major controlling heaven of shaoyang ministerial fire,there were two cases about warm pathogen and eruption recorded in Zhang's medical gist of summerheat damage.Under the same major heaven controlling but with different minor heaven controllings,there are some similar syndromes and also a few dissimilar ones.It is deserved to discuss the mutual relationship.3.Categories of disease and diagnosisAfter analyzing the diagnosis and treatment of wasting-thirst and epidemic disease case under the major heaven controlling,it was deduced that diagnoses of both internal damage and external contraction under certain major heaven controlling are related with syndrome of controlling heaven.It is still worthy of further study on whether it could be applied to all internal and external diseases on a wider scale.4.Six qi controlling heaven and mental illnessBased on clauses of six qi controlling heaven in Suwen Zhizhen Yaoda Lun,it still has the theory of disease originated from five zang-organs.Is it suitable to deduce the relationship between mental illness and six qi controlling heaven? That is to say,whether or not does mental illness obey to law of time or have some relativity with time?...
