The Combination of Social Performance Studies and Media Studies is a thinking of modern living life. This thesis, which starts from Office Reality TV Show, observes people's social performance in the workplace. This is due to the similarity between people's daily life and the Office Reality TV Show. It invested common people and their office. They selected unprofessional actors as the participator. The given situation in the programme are same as the daily routine. The task script is just daily project in office. The movement of participator, including executing mission, communicating with colleagues and competitors and the imitating the ideal model, etc. All of those are interests of Social Performance Studies. There is a perfect transition between the real and the virtual.The television not only extended people's visual field but make a greater influence than reality as well. More and more people learn business management and strategy from TV programmes instead of books. In other words, televisions become a necessary channel to re-build social standard for modern society. With the development of science and technology, it is more and more easier to making programmes. Camera is no longer an instrument for producing fantasy. It falls down to people's daily life and brings the visual illusion to the normal situation. People can only use a cell phone to have their own clip and uploading to the network. The line between real and virtual is getting more and more indistinct. What is real? What is illusion?Many western experts refers that the danger of mass education may become an entertainment. Social Performance Studies would not explored the benefit of entertaining mass education. It would not studied dramatic acting in virtual and given situation as well. However, Social Performance Studies would observed the second nature of people's behaviour and discourse. The attempt of this thesis is to explore the model of people's behaviour and discourse in the visual media time. It is also seeking the practical significance of the social performance and visual media in real life.There is a behaviour standardization in this process. The concept of standard image comes from traditional dramatic theory——"ideal model", which is the perfect character's figure in the actors' mind when they are performing.The main discuss of the first part in this thesis is about the construction of the ideal visual model as well as the culture code of the establishment of social standard. The second part in this thesis is about the construction of the ideal model in philosophical scope. The further thoughts of this thesis is the practical significance of the Social Performance Studies, which is a positive way of professional training.
