Republic of South Africa is the most important country in Africa. The establishment of the new South Africa is, one of the most important events in the history of human development. President Thabo Mbeki was in power for more than nine years, which was an important phase in new South African history so far. Therefore, researching and analysising Mbeki's social development and policies, which is important to understand South Africas ANC value and aims of policies.Eighty years of apartheid in South Africa, Afrikaans dominated natural and social resources by legislation, but because of international sanctions andcontinuing domestic protests and struggles of blacks, the white regime was gradually isolated. As stagnation of economic and social development, National Party ultimately had to abolish apartheid system. After Mandela took power, he actively promoted national reconciliation process, but during his only four-year term, he could not solve social problems and left them to his successor.After Mbeki took power from Mandela, he advocated'African renaissance'and promoted'New Partnership for Africa', which reflects the aspirations of the peoples of Africa. When Mbeki was in power, he made some significant socio-economic reforms that were mainly in agriculture, mining, economic incentives policies. In order to widen black economic status,'affirmative action'and "Broad-Based Black Economic Empowement".These reforms greatly improved the economic and social status of blacks.During Mbeki's term, Great achievements have been made in economic and social development, which were mainly in agriculture, mining, commerce and finance, and external trade. In order to promote social justice and orderly development, during the administration of President Mbeki, he spared no effort to reform social security system of South Africaand introduced a number of measures. Most of the poor in South Africa were covered by social assistance policy, and youth employment was actively promoted, unemploymentwas reduced. More than half of South Africans were living in government-provided low-cost houses.Most of the South African people had health care.Although Mbeki authority has made great efforts and remarkable achievements, the development of South African society also had more prominent problems. These problems are manifold, which were emerging immigration issues, AIDS and crimes in South Africa, which were deteriorating social orders.It is clear that the problems in South African weredue to Mbekis personality. He should bear the main responsibilities. But to solve problems in South Africas social development need through development. Only all of South African citizens get same educational and job opportunities, when hatred between blacks and whites could really be eliminated,'rainbow nation'could really be established!...
