The Overseas Chinese literature in Thailand, a branch of the other Overseas Chineseliteratures in Southeast Asia, was originated in the20thcentury under the influences of the4thMayLiterature Movement in China mainland. Through almost a hundred year, the trend and pattern ofOverseas Chinese literature in Thailand has been changed due to the instability of domestic politicalsituations and the relationship between China and Thailand which distinctly affect the government'spolicy setting toward the Oversea Chinese residents, and inevitably affect the literature's pattern ineach different era.From time to time, through five generations of the Overseas Chinese literature movement inThailand, each generation profoundly has its own political trail and consequences that determinedthe situation and existence of the literary works. Therefore, the Thai foreign policy adjustment andthe establishment of China and Thailand diplomatic relationship in1975were the significant factorsthat helped alleviating Thai government's severely policy toward the Oversea Chinese. The loosenpolicy after1975led to the prosperously rise of Chinese school, Chinese newspaper, Chinese Artand Chinese Literature Organizations up until now. Thus, the Overseas Chinese literature inThailand from the1980s to the present is considered as the fifth and the most flourish generation ofOverseas Chinese literature movement in Thailand.This study chose the works of Zeng Xin, a Thai-Chinese author, who is the greatrepresentative of the fifth generation as of his works are remarkable in literature creativity andhistory veritably. This dissertation emphasizes on studying Zeng Xin's four kinds of literary works;novels, prose writing, poetries and literature criticisms in order to explore the overall conception ofthe contemporary Overseas Chinese literature in Thailand and analyze the dominant characteristicsof the author himself by consider his literature history and creating method background. Thecontents explain the case by using social science theory, culture theory and aesthetic theory as theresearch implements.The research findings are that realism ideology, cultural identity and art of composing in ZengXin's works are profoundly related to the contemporary literature trend, which mainly giveexpression of currently society, people's livelihood and the cultural assimilation process amongThai and Chinese. Realism ideology and culture identity have strong influence in Zeng Xin's worksas they are frequently decoded into his characters, image creativities and language usages.Beside, the author personal factors which are his physician carrier, life experiences andBuddhism belief, are also the significant components to his literature creativity as they; humanismissue and religious principles or life philosophy, were notably and intentionally improved theaesthetics value in his works.
