V.D.Savarkar is an important figure in Indian history,and a noted leader of Hinduism nationalism.His thoughts exerted enormous influence on all aspects of Indian politics,society and foreign affairs at home and abroad.The main body of this dissertation is divide into four chapters.The content of the first chapter is about presentation of background of Savarkar's thoughts,including two parts.The first part introduces detailedly Savarkar's lifetime,being split into his early life,youth time,imprisoned period and unceasing action ages;The second expounds formation of Savarkar's thoughts,including its phases,background and reason.The second chapter is core of this dissertation,which is about discussion of Savarkar's thoughts,consisting of three parts.The first is about his political thoughts,including Hindutva(discussion focuses on four factors and innate character of diacrimination of Hinduism nationality),his concept of violent revolution(including the intellectual context,justice violence and his attitudes on non-violence),pan-Hindustanism(consist of ideas of the great Hindustan,and his attitudes on Sikhs and Nepal Hinduism kingdom) and two-nation theory(including theorical context,theory of Muslim conspiracy and his attitudes on Pakistan);The second is about his religious thoughts, consisting of his idea of Hinduism(definition of Hinduism,relation of Hinduism and Hindutva),religious rationality(including connection of spiritual succeed and secular succeed, his attitudes on Holy books, and his ideas on Sacred Texts and Dharma) and ideas of religious tolerant(on his attitudes on both Buddhism and Islamism);The third is about discussion on his social and economical thoughts,being divided into his appeal to break Hinduism fetters and proceed religious reform,his ideas on caste system(including caste,denouncement on restrict of caste intermarry,requirement on elimination of Untouchable and his paradoxical attitudes on caste system),advocacy to caste interdine,reprimand on navigational ban,proposal to Suddhi and his economical thoughts.The content of the third chapter focuses on similarities and differences of both Savarkar's and Gandhi's thoughts,so as to deepen realization of his thoughts.This chapter has four sections.The first section mainly contrasts ideas of violence and non-violence of both of them,including their intellectual context,different views on religious virtue and current situation of national states,along with different congnition of violence and non-violence;The second is about similarities and differences of ideas of universalism and minority;The third discusses similarities and differences of ideas of caste system,including different attitudes on Untouchable and caste system;The four section is about similarities and differences of their economical thoughts.The four chapter is analysis of impact of his thoughts,having three parts.The first part dicusses influence of Savarkar's thought on solidify of Hindu and separation of Indians;The second introduces successors of his thoughts,including Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and Madhava Sadahiva Golwalkar;The third probes into influence of his thought on tendency of all politics Hinduisation and Hindudom militarization.
