It is based on industrialization technology and market economy system, reflecting masses practice, idea, experience and feel in their eveiy-day life and spreading widely among masses by mass media. It is a massive, every-day-lifely, diversity, commercially, strong permeable, pleasurably and ideology culture. Mass culture in temporary China, as the cultural reflection of the practice of the socialism with Chinese characteristic, is a socialistic, people, national, normal and compatible mass culture. It appeared in the late of 1970, and developed into the mass culture with Chinese characteristic. Mass culture in temporary China has much positive affection. It produces pleasure for the mass of people, provides a new opportunity to education for the mass of people, gives impetus to our country economy development and democracy politic construction, and gives help to our government in social management and safeguarding our culture sovereignty. However, mass culture in our country also brings much negative influence. It assaults traditional culture, socialistic ideology and elite culture. To develop the mass culture with Chinese characteristic, we must uphold Marxism, Mao zedong thoughts and Deng Xiaoping theory, adopt accurate idea of mass culture and enforce culture market management. Meanwhile, we should coordinate some important relations in the course of mass culture development, for example, the one between China mass culture and western mass culture, the one between social benefits and economy benefits, and so on.
