This dissertation targets the exclamatory sentences of Contemporary Chinese . There are altogether 11 parts, comprising the introduction, the 9 chapters of the analysis proper and the conclusion.The introduction introduces the significance of this thesis, the theoretical framework on which this study is based and other relative problems.Chapter 1 generally narrates the history and actuality of the study on the exclamatory sentences of Chinese and makes some simple remarks, points out the occurring problems and deficiency of the preceding studies on this issue, makes out the study basis of this dissertation and points out the direction that we will make efforts.Chapter 2 discusses the characters of the exclamatory sentences of Chinese from these angles: definition, form and function, and establishes a rough range of exclamatory sentence by carving up boundaries between the exclamatory sentence and other kinds of sentences.Chapter 3 mainly analyzes the basic patterns of the informational structures of the exclamatory sentences, discusses some main factors that influence the expressions and comprehensions of exclamatory information and the forms of expressions of them, so that people comprehend the modes and processes that exclamatory sentences express emotional information.Chapter 4 classifies the exclamatory sentences from three angles: the forms of voice, the ways of expression and the types of meaning.Chapter 5 dwells on the actions of adverbs when they are in exclamatory sentences and the selectivity that the exclamatory sentences possess for the adverbs, and observes the idiographic functions of some adverbs commonly used in exclamatory sentences and the forms of their expressions in relative structures.Chapter 6 observes the existing conditions, expressive characters and functional sorts of the single-word exclamatory sentences, and the selectivity that the single-word exclamatory sentences possess for every kind of words.Chapter 7 observes the interjections of Contemporary Chinese from three angles: the forms of voice, functional characters and effects of expression, and discusses some special phrases commonly used as exclamations.Chapters offers a comprehensive description with sorts to the modal particles commonly used in exclamatory sentences, and explains the functions of these modal particles.Chapter 9 observes the negative formats commonly used in exclamatory sentences of Contemporary Chinese, and regards that there is a asymmetry between affirmation and negation in exclamatory sentences of Contemporary Chinese . then focuses on these two negative structures: "V/A ge (个) P!" 和 "Q cai (才) VP!", and analyzes the characters of their structures and functions from different points of view and negative mechanism of them.Chapter 10 is the conclusion of this study, illustrates the progresses this dissertation makes in the study on exclamatory sentences of Contemporary Chinese with remarks of the problems requiring further research.
