The Reflection Of The Special Vocabulary And Idioms Of Dialects And The Chinese Conventional Culture

This paper reveals the unique cultural value of the special vocabulary and idiom of dialects, reflects the deep roots of the conventional culture and makes researches on relative fields as linguistics, sociology, science of culture by referring to large amount of documents, conducting detailed dialect investigation, making use of the results of both language theory and language application researches achieved by Mr. Li Rulong, the distinguished tutor of the author, and other scholars.Adopting the views and methods of the science of dialect, the science of culture, formal logic and dialectical logic, it analyzes and compares the two categories, natural and social, the two features, concrete and Abstract and the five descriptions, common-accepted, unique-expression, specific-expression, implied-expression and pun-expression of the special vocabulary and idioms of Nancheng dialect, the regional culture and Chinese conventional culture.With its abundant language sources and social investigation findings, the paper defines the relations between the special vocabulary and idioms of dialects and Chinese conventional culture from three aspects: the special vocabulary and idioms make an important part of the conventional culture, embody the overall characteristics, expose the theory resources of the conventional culture.It is therefore concluded in the paper that the special vocabulary and idioms of dialects carry apparent regional features, hence display the deep roots of the conventional culture.The special vocabulary and idioms of dialects reflect the most profound social properties, the most widespread cultural base, the most common ways of life, the most forceful castigation over life, and the most practical value of life with the most primitive language forms, the most vivid metaphors and the clearest communicative thoughts.In the special vocabulary and idioms of dialects embeds the eagerness of the mass for the social life, the persistent pursuit for material and spirit civilization and the basic requirements for the ruler and ruling class. It is an inexhaustible treasure of the social activities of the people.This paper, expounding and proving the conventional culture with dialects research results, aims at refreshing the existent cognition of the academic circles over special vocabulary and idioms of dialects, providing realistic bases for the formulating of relative policies for the country, thus to serve the social life in modem society.
