| The "17-years" literature in Chinese modern literature is one of the hot spots in academic circle in recent years. The reason is that the mental ecology and value direction contained in the"17-years" literature have manifested and affected several generations' spirit ; and with fully new eyes, we can find it expresses disaffection and resistance to the value turbulence in a new social rules."Rereading" is one of the most important ways on studying the "17-years" literature and it has much vital significance, for this kind of "rereading" will deepen the core thesis-literature of human-in the route of modernization in Chinese literature , nevertheless, there are extremely few people who has had done something in this important area at present.The text here will give a "rereading" to the "17-years"novels from a angle of individual life.I will use the human theory from CarlMarx as my guide ,and then with the methods just like the " typical phenomenon", "intensive reading ", "neo-historicism ",etc.. The propositions of three division of the literature world, i.e. "temple", "square", "nongovernment", and also the "nongovernmental hidden structure " postulated by Chen sihe are the theoretic resources in this paper; while the theory of Hermeneutics offers theoretic support to my "rereading".The rereading of the "17-years" novels from the angle of individual life is divided into three chapters:The first chapter, regarding emphatically to the relationship between the individual life and the whole, carries on a new discussion and analysis of the existing states of various kind of representative individual lives in the "epic" novels which were in dominant status in the "17-years" novels. After a summary of the shapingparadigm of the individual life, the paper launches further discussion mainly in two parts:The first part takes Zhu laozhong, Liang shengbao and Lin daojing , the three characters who have entered the whole and historical mainstream, as examples, and observing from the relationship between the "real collective" and the " unreal collective", the "personalized individual" and the "accidental individual".I will give some explains on how individual life devotes into the whole, how the life nature and condition are after the devotion, and furthermore, elaborates the spiritual innate natures during the life shaping, which include the value direction, individual survival state, social politicization of spiritual constitution, belief, fervor, sacrifice, etc, from aspects of the farmer hero attribute, the youth attribute, the educated female attribute in individual life, and from aspect of the realization of individual life in material world, social value and spiritual world.The second part takes the images of Chunlan, Gaixia, Yu yongze, Feng guitang, Zhang guizhen, and Sufang as examples to discuss the living state and destiny of various kinds of individual lives which are alienated and repelled outside the whole and the historical mainstream, which remains reflections on the following questions such as: the "intense" relationship between the lively individual life and the historical rationality steps and its rules; the contradiction of the individual life observed between queries in social safety interrogation to conscience and academic prays to the soul; the individual life shape of the British and America intellectuals; the "historical error" tragedy of the individual life; the significance of the ordinary daily existence of individual life; the individual life damage due to being cast into "the separate list" by the whole and the historical progress, and so on.The second chapter, from the angle of individual life, carries on a "reshaping" revelation to the two distinct value arteries of the "Wu-si"(the May 4th) and the nongovrenment in the "17-years" novels.
