Enlightened by western literary theory, this paper focuses on the analysis of aesthetic images in Tang-Song Ci from the semiotic perspective.This paper consists of eight chapters. Chapter One is a historical survey on Chinese classical aesthetic image .In Chapter Two, the author compares Chinese aesthetic image with the western one. In Chapter Three, the author studies the relationship between symbol and Tang-Song Ci and concludes that Tang-Song C is a collection of symbol images.In the following four chapters, the author analyzes Tang-Song Ci image symbol and their usage systematically from four aspects, and especially picks up nine typical images. These image symbols are moon, dusk, building, curtain, beauty, water, willow, flower and birds, which appear much frequently and employed much successfully in Ci.On the basis of the above analysis, the author draws her ultimate conclusion that the image symbols in Tang-Song Ci are selected and combined in different order to express the poets' feeling. Therefore, a good handling of these image symbols is sure to reach a deep understanding of Tang-Song Ci.
