The Study On The "N₁+ (DE) +N₂" Modifier-Head Construction Of Modern Chinese

The "N₁+(de)+N₂"modifier-head construction is one of phrase structure in modern Chinese. This paper discusses the semantic relations, syntactic functions,the hiding or appearing mechanism of the phrase-marker "de", analyses the restriction factors of lexicalization and the factors of modifier-head "N₂+(de)+N₂" structure restricting N₁ , N₂, studies the titlelisation motivaton of the "N₁+(de)+N₂".This paper also analyses the development of "N₁+(marker)+N₂" modifier-head construction diachronicly, discusses the universals and distinction in typology synchronicly.It set up syntactic syntagmaic mode for "N₁+(de)+N₂" modifier-head construction of modern Chinese in this paper, and offers very formalized rule for the machine segmentation in information processing and syntactic understand.This research will offer an effective analysis platform to discusses further selectional mechanism between the internal syntagms of other Chinese phrase.
