The personages in the Song dynasty suffered from their tough experiences on their way southward across the Yangtze River. This historical process, namely the Jingkang Crisis, has had a profound impact upon the Chinese culture and its literature development. An overall analysis of their lives and literatures against the background will help us keenly understand the mainstream of that turbulent time. Therefore, based on the research into a concrete individual, the author, by an approach of a combination of historical reviews and practical explanations, is ready to have a comprehensive research into their life experiences, status quos, spiritual appearances, cultural ideals, regional characteristics among the southward poets.The essay is divided into two parts; the first one with 4 chapters makes an overall,study, while the other focuses on individual analysis.The first chapter tells their survival conditions and spiritual appearances in the earlier period after their southward settlements so as to build an bridge for an explanation of literature creation and social changes. The second chapter, taking Lv benzhong as an example, tries to discuss the cultural reconstruction ideals. The southward poets, encouraged by mainstream spirit, positively launch cultural activities like teaching, lecturing, discussing cultural affairs and rectifying documents to complete the mission of cultural transferring and reconstruction with an aim to rebuild the cultural empire of the South-Song dynasty. From the geographical points of view, the third chapter is about the research into regional literature in the southward settlements area. Altogether 4 circles of important groups (namely Linchuan, Shangrao, Fujian, Taizhou) for creative literature works take in shape in the poet forum. The author also analyzes the regional poets groups from the aspects of their beginning, development, main themes, motivation and literature memory etc, which lays a solid regional foundation for the reconstruction of poet forum in the southward settlements. The fourth chapter depicts the overall appearances in the earlier years of the poets southward settlement and bird view of general creation in the poets forum, the maincontents of which include: theoretical construction, style transferring, poets themes, common topics, etc.Two comparisons are concerned in this chapter, The first comparison for self-created poems is made in the transformation of the society; while the second is about the comparison with the works by Suhuang and Jiangxi poets as well as resurgent poets in the following period so as to demonstrate southward poets' unique style and its unparalleled status in the literature history.The next half is an collection by two individual poets named Lv benzhong and Zengji. first, the author makes an simple analysis about their poem; then the chronicle of Zengji's is written by myself, while chronicle of Lv benzhong's is completed with some complementarity and supplements on points like the exact year for his poem, his personal experiences etc on the basis of the originated "The Lv Zhongben Chronicle" conducted by Mr.Wang Zhaopeng.
