The issue of contemporary crisis of identity as a whole is now one of the key theoretical and practical themes in the modern society. Thus, the exploration on the contemporary crisis of identity in the vision of the theory of human beings should have its own important value both in the aspects of academy and practice. The thesis is trying to examine contemporary identity all-sidedly and creatively, while paying a very close attention to the crisis of identity, from the points of philosophy and Marxist theory of human beings.The author, as one of the prerequisite in discussing the issue of contemporary crisis of identity, defines the contemporary identity as follows in the"Introduction": identity, the confirmation of one's self-identification which has been shaped in modern society and has been working around the self and presenting around the axes of differences such as sexes, ages, classes, ethnics and states. Every axis of differences has its own dimension of power, and people usually acquire their own social difference of the self by means of the tension of the different powers, so that they can discern the self-identification.Chapter One"the Puzzle of'Who Am I': the Contemporary Crisis of Identity and Its Representations"attempts to explain and define the meanings of contemporary crisis of identity in the field of the theory of human beings. Logically, the author claims that the crisis of identity is the loss of the identity. The author summarizes the various forms of the crisis of identity such as the loss of the individual languages, the loss of the sense of orientation and the improper location of oneself, the loss of the creativity, the increase of the anxiety, the loss of the cores of values, the loss of the heroism, the collapse of the frameworks of morality and the doubts on the legitimacy of the master ideology.
