Observing universe by the way of up-and down is specially appreciated in the Chinese ancient culture, which means the original experience of sight sense observing heaven and earth by the way of up-and down. But with the sedimentation of this original sight activity, it is internalized human being' s special experience of mentality and thinking, generated the abundant meanings in the spirit construction and in the cultural imagination, and developed the harmonious relation between human being and universe in the Chinese ancientness. Therefore, it implied the basic posture and character of Chinese ancient culture that united in the subjectivity of human being between constructing to human being and deconstructing to nature in cultural imagination of China, but also symbolized the deep structure of Chinese culture and spirit in the ancientness.In order to changing research of Chinese art spirit by introspecting the perception of " the art spirit", this paper intent to reveal deeply Chinese art spirit with choosing the cultural appearance of observing universe by the way of up-and down. In detecting the mode of cultural imagination and spirit construction, this text exert itself to digging out the generation, development, and main content of Chinese art spirit. This paper not only draw a basic conclusion that Chinese art spirit is formed in three-dimensional structure, and in many concrete aspects, tried the new comprehension to the Chinese art spirit. Therefore, say up from the certain degree, this text differ from generally analysis of Chinese art spirit, have to bring certainly innovation in exploiting Chinese art spirit.Observing universe by the way of up-and down, chapter 1 is analyzing a cultural explanation early to it in Zhou-Yi, poetical spirit being generated from this, and the influence of it upon the Chinese art. Chapter 2 is discussing different development and influence of it between by Confucian School and Taoist School in its cultural imagination and spirit construction. Chapter 3 studies that it is developed a new aesthetical spirit by intellectual during the period of the Wei State and Jin Dynasty, and generated spirit of Chinese art and its three-dimensional structure by intellectual ' s aesthetical practicing consciously. Chapter 4 is revealing in detail the main content of three-dimensional structure in the spirit of Chinese art.
