The Value Judgment Is Not Confirmed?

In the early 20th century, modern philosophers characterized by logic positivism raised the proposition on the principle of verification after long-time study in the field of natural science and logic mathematics. According to their theory, they thought the value judgment including ethnic and moral is meaningless statement, This result leads to a possible situation: If value judgment is unverifiable, certainly, people will doubt on both meaning and effectiveness of the judgment; If value judgment is unverifiable, the guide for people will also be meaningless, and rational intellect have to give way to the ambient pressure as well as the nescient preference. This article writes from the theory "the unverification of value judgment" and its supporting reasons, contends for the rationality of the logic positivism which stands for the unverification of the value, and tries to reestablish the confidence on the possible meaning and effectiveness of the value verification through criticizing logic positivism's principle of verification and their reasons for the unverification of value judgments.The first, second and the third chapter mainly make a classification on the logic positivism, meanwhile, it concludes the reason for the deny on the value verification from three parts, randomicity of emotion, limitation of language and unreasonableness of rationality. The thesis indicates that the logic positivism and emotionism educe their theory (value judgment is nothing but people's shout for emotion) in pointing out the relevancy between value judgment and personal emotion through the analyze on value and value judgment.In the level of the language logic, logic positivism advocates that verification is the standard only for the linguistic meaning, and phrases on the value judgment is unable to meet the requirement for the standard on empiricism, thus it is out of the range of human's recognition and we can no longer find the evidence for the value meaning on the basis of phrases for value judgment. To speak of the rationality, logic positivism advocates that it can not make an influence on the aim for value judgment, and as the result for "personal thinking" in the part of standard value judgment, if it tries to standardize "others" outsidein the normal expressive way, it will certainly run into a mess on communicating with the different evaluation criterion. Based on three reasons above, logic positivism and its successors advance the statement that "value judgment is unverifiable" .The second part of the thesis consists of three chapters, which focus on arguing for the rationality of "the unverifiable value judgment" from three points, the verification on the value judgment and emotion, the verification on value judgment and the language logic and the verification on the value judgment and rationality.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the verification on value judgment and emotion. On the one hand, it reviews the concept on emotion in the view of psychology and tendency, and tries to eliminate the abstract recognition on the emotional concept given by logic positivism and emotionism to reveal the fact that the occur of the emotion is the result for interaction between one's inner mind and exterior experience, and all of which is against the point that logic positivism and emotionism only take emotion as a kind of random expressive way from one's own mind. On the other hand, it introduces the visual angle of situation, analyzes the social root from the occurrence on emotion and influence on situation, and upon this premise, the author concludes that although emotional reflect is a personal behavior, we can conquer the puzzle on the randomicity of emotion by the pursuit of seeking resources on the origin of each emotion and make a new way for the verification of value judgment.The fifth chapter mainly discusses about the verification on value judgment and language logic. The thesis studies in the way of three parts, language analyzes on value judgment, logic analyzes and normal pragmatics. From the view of language analyze, the value term is hard to be defined, but it still can be found through daily use, and by the analyze on imperative sentence, we can also find that although the value judgment taken as criterion usually appears in the command order, it can be suitably apperceived in the concrete situation where this command occurs. In the process of logical analyze on the value judgment, we set from the logical commonness between value judgment and scientific judgment and try to find the proper way of evaluation, finally, walk away from the morass on valuejudgment caused by the extreme formalism. In this period, we also introduce the visual angel of normal pragmatism to break the initial limit on logical positivism for value judgment, to this extent; we are no longer restricted by the space only for linguistics, under which we talk about value judgments and words. So, the relationship between these valued words and personal emotion is replaced by the social exchange and logical language, which finally conquer the handicap to value judgment in the part of formal logicality.The sixth chapter we have discussed the relationship between the verification on the value judgments and rationality. What we want to critic the views about rationality of logic positivism from two aspects: one is to open out the interaction between rationality and experience from reviewing the conception of experience, especially by analyzing the continue relationship between meanings and ends; The another is to replace subjective reason by the intercourse ration, it is good for select the criterion of verification of value judgments better in this view ,what we have done is to answer the question that how to understand and communicate in different criterions of value judgments.At last, we reaffirmed the importance of guarding the verification on the value judgments, and summarized the viewpoint of inquiry it. Although logic positivism denied the verification on the value judgments firstly, how to discuss it should not localized in logic positivism's views, instead, we should probe into it by inquiring the historical social situation of value judgments.
