Chinese People That The Rhythmic Patterns Of English And Teaching

This dissertation expressed Chinese and English rhythm clearly, found out the similarities and differences. Catering to the applied and useful needs, there are hundreds English sentences be read, be recorded, and be statistical comparison. The research want to find out the Chinese English rhythm pattern, find out the rule, which can help phonetics, rhythm, then can improve calculator voice technology. This is for Chinese English education, and test the research theory of rhythm. There are great progresses have been made in phonetics and speech technology, such as speech input system, human machine dialog system, computer-aided language studying system, and so on.In this dissertation, at first, the author selected about six chapters to discuss. Firstly, there is general state in the first chapter, in which introduce frame of reference, and defines conceptions be used in the dissertation. This chapter is theoretic basic of paper.The second chapter is talking about the characteristic of rhythm. The point is the types of rhythm and factors. The Chinese rhythm pattern is called syllable timed rhythm pattern because of its rhythm connects with syllables. There is almost equal to time between two syllables. It's taken that English rhythm is belong to stress timed language, because it is almost isochronous between two stresses. The third rhythm pattern is mora pattern, for example: Japanese.Then, the third chapter is described clearly about Chinese and English rhythm pattern, and point out the similarities and differences between these two languages. This helps Chinese English education.After that, there is phonetics test to introduce in the fourth chapter. There are some depictions of laboratory, tool, language stuff, the database and so on. We hope this can help the followed research from this part.The next chapter is analysis the test by statistics. At the part, we find some differences between Chinese and English rhythm pattern, and Chinese English rhythm pattern that belongs to syllable timed language.Lastly, the end of dissertation is the comment of the paper, and it brings forward questions, hopes, and extend research.Furthermore, three some ideas are involved in the dissertation:Firstly, the writer compares different views on rhythm, lodge our theory.Secondly, there are 251 sentences be recorded, 10 persons, thenwe got 250*10=2500 sentences, and all of them is seen by phoneme, can help lucubrate.In conclusion, the Chinese English rhythm pattern is found by stress, duration, and so on.There are some innovations on the research:Firstly, there are a great deal, full of sentence types.Secondly, it is practicability. The writer thinks much of worth of research, not only for English teaching, but for speech project.Thirdly, the point of investigate is novelty, modern. The paper uses experiment, Pratt, which is a program of computer.The stuff is chosen by experts.The quality of recording is high, all of them is transcribed by experts.Certainly, there are some deficiencies on the dissertation.One of them is the person just have 10 persons, because short of time and people.On the other hand, there is short of segment research.What were found in this study could be helpful linguistics research, teacher English in China and speech processing.
