Winnicott is the outstanding representative of the Independent School of Object Relation of Psychoanalysis. He is famous in the academic community of psychoanalysis for his unique study on child psychoanalysis whose kernel is the mother-infant relationship. The dissertation constructs Winnicott's thoughts of psychoanalysis, reviews his main theories such as good-enough mother and facilitating environment, true self and false self, transitional objects and transitional phenomena etc from five aspects: the environment, the structure, the space, the motives and the courses of psychological development. His standpoints of psychoanalytic treatment such as emphasizing the role of the environment, therapeutic courses of regression to dependence, focuses on countertransference, deference to rights of not communicating overthrow some aspects of Classical Psychoanalysis. He presents a play theory emphasizing courses and spontaneity and invents an effective play therapy- the Sqiggle Game. The dissertation explores applications of Winnicott's basic ideas and methods to Chinese youngsters' psychological counseling, in which two clients are interviewed for 14 and 6 sessions respectively. The clinical research verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of Winnicott's main theories and some therapeutic methods.Winnicott's thoughts are continuously evolving after his death. Although lacking in system, his thoughts still reveal the prosperity through his students and close friends, research institutions and workshops and the influence on the development of Relational Psychoanalysis. His thoughts facilitate Psychoanalysis Movement further from Driven Model to Relational Model, guide the turnaround of theories of Object Relations. In spite of evident limitations, his thoughts have fundamental influence on modern psychoanalysis, the common people and many fields such as psychotherapy, social work, literary, aesthetics, etc.
