In modern time, Ecological crisis affects people's world view of taking man as the foundation deeply, and results in a great conversion in human beings'understanding of development. This conversion also brings about many changes in Christian theologies, and results in new ecological theological thoughts appearing. American catholic theologian Rosemary Radford Ruether's ecofeminist theology is one of them. This dissertation attempts to give a systematic survey of Ruether's ecological theology and her unique way to solve ecological crisis. This dissertation is divided into five chapters, besides the introduction part and conclusion part. The main purpose of the introduction part and the first chapter is to make an introduction of feminist movement and feminist theology. From the second chapter to the fifth is the main part of this dissertation. In the second chapter, the author presents an introduction of Ruether's experience and her ecofeminist theologies'characteristics. The following three parts constitutes the main contents of Ruether's ecofeminist theology. The third chapter focuses on Ruether's criticism to two kinds of dominations (domination of woman by man and domination of nature by human), and her analysis of the root of ecological crisis. In the fourth chapter, the author expounds two biblical traditions Ruether emphasizes. The covenantal tradition established a basic order for Christian world and the sacramental tradition connected human and nature with God. Ruether points out that both of them imply the harmonious and unified relationship between God, human being and nature. The fifth chapter mainly discusses ecological justice, the core of Ruether's thoughts. Through the exploration into the ecological theology of Ruether, it will help us to grasp the main content, characteristics, achievements and limitations of Christian feminist theology and ecological theology; besides, it also provides us with a different perspective to solve ecological crisis.
