The paper starts with the crisis of current western art and the discussion of Danto's the end of art, guides to the relationship between art and truth , as Heidegger thought, "the relationship between art and truth must be measured on the nature of mimesis ", and then results to the requirement of re-inspecting the mimesis.The chapter one describes the usual recognize about mimesis, and the three attitudes to criticize and opposite such mimesis.The chapter two researches the three transition periods of mimesis: the Greece to the Renaissance, the Baroque to the realism, the impressionist and after. It reveals that in the art mimesis from Plato to the impressionism, the binary opposition relations between the phenomenon and essence, form and concept have never changed, the origin of the current art crisis caused by the relationship has existed in it, however, Heidegger thought that the metaphysics truth of binary separation was a truth of "the forgotten", rather than the original meaning of the truth. In order to understand the original relationship of art and truth, we need to further retrospect to the origin of the mimesis before the pre-Socratic to research. By this, it guides to the requirement of inspecting the mimesis.The chapter three returns to the origin of the mimesis, reveals the original meaning of the mimesis which is forgotten later.The chapter four analyses and explains the value of the original meaning of the mimesis in the current art creation based on the case of the art creation of Cezanne and Giacometti, and its influence when it faces to the current art crisis issues.On the chapter five, it compares the endogenous meaning of the mimesis and the "evocation" in Chinese poetry.Finally, it concludes the essential differences between the endogenous meaning of the mimesis and the traditional mimesis, and then guides to the instructive value of Chinese poetic art when it faces to the current art crisis issues.
