The present study reveals and analyzes the problems of the current art education with analysis of literatures, research of questionnaires and observation of classes. Based on the theories of Generate Theory, emergent curriculum and post-modern curriculum, the viewpoint of the emergent art education has been put forward.There are some problems in the traditional art education, such as standardization, preformed characteristic, mechanization. These problems have resulted in the oppression of pupils'innovative inspirit, the reduction of the freedom space of art, the division of the integrated language of art and the loss of the pleasure of art experiences. As a result, the development of pupils'personality has been held back. How to solve the problems and attract the pupils'interesting over again? The implement of the emergent art education is an effective approach. Firstly, "emergent" has been explained from the perspective of philosophy, psychology, aesthetics and pedagogy. Secondly, the histories of art education in home and abroad have been reviewed, and the deficiencies of the domestic art education have been revealed, the causes of them have been analyzed. Based on that, the present study discusses the emergent art education, such as its conceptions, characteristics, values, and so on. How to actualize the emergent art education under the current conditions has been discussed emphatically. The author argues that the preconditions of actualizing the emergent art education are establishing emergent views, carrying out emergent teachings. The emergent art curriculum is the undertaker of the emergent art education. Some idiographic strategies should be used, such as open question, created emergent context, record and self-reflection. In addition, the emergent art education should be implemented in a favorable ecological environment of classroom. The national education system provides the effective guarantee and sustain for the emergent art education.It is hoped that the present study maybe promote the development of the interrelated researches and provide some guidance for the practice of art education。...
