The development of peer relations was pursuited in three classes of preschool children for five years by peer nomination method. The impact factors on children peer relations were surveyed by interview method. The children' s social competence was developped by topic course method. The results were as follow:1) The development of children' s peer relations was self-orgnized.The developing process is from a state of relative globality and lack of differentiation to a state of increasing differentiation, articulation, and hierarchical integration. That is to say in detail, peer relation at age 4 is chaos state, and peer relation at age 5 is differentiation state and peer relation at age 6 is stable state.2)The development trend of children peer relations showed significant individual difference. The development trend of social preference was three kinds, and the development trend of social impact was two kinds.3) There was no significant gender difference on peer relation. However, there was significant on development trend of social preference. The girls were more preferrenced than boys at age 5 and age 6. There were significant individual difference on development trend of boys and girls. There were three kinds development trends in social preference of boys and two kinds in social impact of boys. There were both two kinds' development trends in social preference and social impact of girls.4) The number friends and groups is increasing by age. However, the friendship is not stable by age. The total number is not difference between the same sex friends and the heterosex friends, but it was difference by age. There was difference on friends among peer status.5)The accepted factors were "acommpany" and "favorable attuide " .the rejected factors were "negative behavior" .the factors showed difference in age, gender and peer status.6) Based on the result of children peer relation research, a topic course was developed for children' s social competence. They suggested that: association promoted at age 4; peace association at age 5; cooperating association at age 6.
