On Aesthetic Trancendence

Aesthetic transcendence is a core proposition in classic aesthetics, which is deeply rooted in the nature of human's self-transcendence,so it is an eternal topic in a sense. Many philosophers both in China and Europe had thought so much about this topic. But the aesthetic coxcombry in modern society is urging people to confront the everlasting question:The dimension of aesthetic transcendence will be cut off? Reviewing the past, based on reality, prospecting modern spirit space in future, we feel the importance and the urgency of rethinking obout aesthetic transcendence. This paper started from the modern people's living conditions, more comprehensively explaining the significance and value of aesthetic transcendence. Basically this paper has the following innovation.First, after reviewing the representative theory of aesthetic transcendence, from the angles of anthropology, existential theory and axiology, thoroughly analyzed the philosophy base of aesthetic transcendence.then Interpreted the theory of aesthetic transcendence in multidimensional field of view. Aesthetic transcendence was proposed as a theory of "no interest" and "action" with a double-layer structure.Second.put aesthetic transcendence in a comparison with religious transcendence and moral transcendence, pointed out the aesthetic trend of the human spirit, pointed out the internal limits of aesthetic transcendence as well, regarding the functions and characteristics of aesthetic transcendence dialectically.Third, summarized the outline of the traditional aesthetic modernity, pointing out that aesthetic transcendence is the core of aesthetic modernity. But during the process of development of aesthetic modernity, aesthetic transcendence gradually losed its status.which is indispensable to reconstruct the true spirit of aesthetic modernity.The first chapter is a part of Introduction about the whole paper. This part interpreted the topic and background. Firstly from the macroscopic angle described the situation of modern spirit confusion. Then from the current debating on aestheticization of everyday life, reviewed the research on aesthetic transcendence.Then this paper expected the theory value and practical significance of studying aesthetic transcendence. At the end of this chapter it introduced the methodological guidance and the approach of thinking.The second chapter is about the Chinese and western traditions on aesthetic transcendence.This chapter firstly compared and analyzed the tradition of thoughts about aesthetic transcendence.In this part, we selected Chinese and Western typical theories in history, analyzing their respective thought of aesthetic transcendence.assessing them by the perspective of existential theory.It provided the later theoretical construction with some basic thought resources which was indispensable.The third chapter is about the theoretical meaning of aesthetic transcendence.This chapter made a omni-directional demonstration, interpretation and description of aesthetic transcendence. First, from the Angle of philosophy proved that aesthetic transcendence is deeply rooted in the human nature of creating existential significance, and people's appeal of pursuance of value. During the interpretation of aesthetic transcendence connotation, combined with specific aesthetic experience. At the end we finally tried to propose a theory of aesthetic transcendence with double-layer structure.The fourth chapter is about the uniqueness of aesthetic transcendence.This part of paperthe compared aesthetic transcendence with religious transcendence and moral transcendence, pointed out that religious aesthetic and moral aesthetic is the trend of future culture. But this paper did not advocate the function of aesthetic transcendence excessively, at the end of this chapter, criticised aesthetic salvation and aesthetic utopia, put forward to judge dialectically the value and significance of aesthetic transcendence.The fifth chapter is about aesthetic transcendence of the contemporary situations.This part of paper focused on the aesthetic spread,investigating and evaluating comprehensively this modern aesthetic and cultural landscape,.then with Dewey's aesthetic thoughts as the breakthrough, made a distinction between daily experience and aesthetic experience,pointing out that in the metaphysics time, the aesthetic experience thought could not completely lost its ideal and transcendence.The paper finally put forward to recreate the tradition of aesthetic modernity, gave aesthetic transcendence the due position.
